Saveetha College of Pharmacy, Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences (SIMATS) Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India; jointly in association with the Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) organized an International Webinar Series 2025, on the theme "Advancing Pharmacy Practice: Bridging Healthcare Access and Patient Support," held during September 22 - 24, 2025.

The three-day virtual event was convened by Dr. Ramaiyan Velmurugan (Professor and Principal, SIMATS College of Pharmacy) and Dr. Rathinavelu Mohanraj (EC Member IPA Hospital Pharmacy Division, and Associate Professor, SIMATS College of Pharmacy), with an initiative aimed to reintegrate pharmacists as an essential healthcare team member, focusing on patient care and medication management, through service-driven approach that prioritizes patient well-being. 

The three-day event had brainstorming Expert Talk and Panel Discussion by global leaders in pharmacy; Prof. Dr. Roop Narayan Gupta (National President - Indian Pharmaceutical Association), Ms. Yulia Trisna (Vice-President, Southeast Asia International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP)-HPS, Indonesia) and Prof. Rao VSV Vadlamudi (Professional Secretary, SEARPharm Forum). 


The three-day virtual event highlighted notable presentations on Pharmacy Practice from Thailand, United States, Nepal, and Global Perspective by Ms. Juanina Da Costa (Senior Pharmacist, National Hospital Guido Valadares, Timor-Leste, Thailand); Dr. Mahadev Bhatt (Clinical and Community Pharmacists (Retd), California, United States); Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa (Consultant Pharmacist and Associate Professor, MBAHS, Nepal); and Prof. Dr. A. Mohathasim Billah (DoPP, Sri Ramachandra Faculty of Pharmacy, SRIHER (DU), India)  respectively.

Eminent pharmacy practitioners from Department of Pharmacy, Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL), Malaysia; Dr. Rahela Ambaras Khan (Head of Pharmacotherapy), Ms. Nik Nuradlina Binti Nik Adnan (Head of Radiotherapy and Oncology Pharmacy), Dr. Farizan Abdul Ghaffar (Head of Pharmacy Ambulatory and Senior Clinical Pharmacist), and Ms. Rohana Binti Hassan (Head of Pharmacy Department); delivered lectures on current pharmacy practices in the areas of ASP, patient support in Oncology, EBM pharmacy services, and pharmacy exchange programs in HKL, Malaysia. 
The three-day digital event (International Webinar) was coordinated by Dr. Thirumalaikumaran Rathinam and Dr. Bhavya Ekambaram (SIMATS College of Pharmacy, Chennai).


Totally 163 registered national and International participants attended the International Webinar Series and appreciated all three days sessions, and suggested us to come up with more number of such programmes and faculty development programmes.
