The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) is the Central Drug Authority for discharging functions assigned to the Central Government under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act. CDSCO has six zonal offices, four sub-zonal offices, 13 port offices and seven laboratories under its control. Major functions of CDSCO: Regulatory control over the import of drugs, approval of new drugs and clinical trials, meetings of Drugs Consultative Committee (DCC) and Drugs Technical Advisory Board (DTAB), approval of certain licences as Central Licence Approving Authority is exercised by the CDSCO hqrs.

Sultan Ul Uloom College of Pharmacy was established in the year 1997, approved by AICTE, Pharmacy Council of India and Affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad. The college has successfully completed 18 years of existence with excellent results year after year. The college has special distinction of producing 8 University Gold Medalists. The faculty and non- teaching associates have demonstrated teamwork in carrying innovations to upgrade the standard of quality improvement in the areas of Pharmacy education.

Dr K V Subbareddy Institute of Pharmacy was established in 2007, at Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. It is about 40 acre campus and having a group of institutions. Having well equipped laboratories.

The college was inaugurated on 4th July 1945 by Sir Cattamanchi Ramalinga Reddy, the distinguished educationist and the then Vice-Chancellor, Andhra University and the college was named after him "Sir C.R. Reddy Municipal College". The college started functioning as a second grade college with Sri D.S. Subrahmanyam as the Founder Principal. A constitution was adopted for the Governing Body in the year 1947, according to which the word "Municipal" was dropped for the original name of the college. The college name to be treated as an institution under Private Management by the Government from 1947.
