    ABSTRACT
Sodium is an essential element for all animal life (including human) and for some plant species. In animals, sodium ions are necessary for regulation of blood and body fluids, transmission of nerve impulses, heart activity, and certain metabolic functions. Sodium is the chief cation in extracellular compartment of animal body.
Sodium plays a vital role not only in human body but also in various food types. Sodium chloride is the principal source of sodium in the diet, and is used as seasoning and preservative, such as for pickling and jerky; most of it comes from processed foods.
The sodium content in various foods can be analyzed by using Flame Photometry. Flame photometry also called flame atomic emission spectrometry is a branch of atomic spectroscopy in which the species examined in the spectrometer are in the form of atoms.
The samples used for analysis are junk foods which have become a common trend among all generations. A total of 15 junk foods were processed and analyzed for estimating the sodium content in them by Flame Photometry.
Based on the analysis the samples were categorized into low, moderate and high sodium containing foods. The analysis helps in creating awareness among all the generations to reduce the sodium intake in order to prevent problems like hypertension, hyponatremia, hypernatremia and associated medical complications in their future.

    Abstract:
Ropinirole hydrochloride buccoadhesive bilayered tablets containing bioadhesive layer and drug free backing layer were formulated to release the drug for extended periods of time with reduction in dosing frequency. The tablets were prepared by direct compression method using bioadhesive polymers like Carbopol934P, Methocel K4M, Methocel K15M, Sodium carboxy methyl cellulose, PVP K-30, Sodium alginate and Hydroxy propyl cellulose alone or in combination, Ethylcellulose has incorporated as an impermeable backing layer. Tablets were evaluated for  weight and content uniformity, thickness, hardness, surface pH, swelling index, exvivo mucoadhesion time, invitro drug release and invitro drug permeation. The modifiedinvitro assembly was used to determine and compare the bioadhesive strength of tablets with fresh porcine buccal mucosa as a model tissue All characteristics of formulated tablets were shown to be dependant on composition of bioadhesive materials used. Maximum bioadhesion strength was observed for tablets formulated with Carbopol 934P. Carbopol 934P and Methocel K4M in the ratio of 1:1 could be used to design effective and stable buccoadhesive tablets of ropinirole hydrochloride.

    1. Abstract
The aim of study was to screen the antibacterial and antifungal activities of methanol and ethanol extracts of fenugreek seed (Trigonella foenum). Crude extracts of the seeds with methanol and ethanol were screened for antibacterial activities against two gram positive pathogenic bacteria – Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus and against two gram negative pathogenic bacteria – E.coli, klebsiella. The antibacterial activity was performed using cup-plate method. The extracts were prepared using soxhlet extraction method. Methanol extract showed activity against E.coli and Klebsiella were as ethanol extract showed activity against Staphylococcus and Bacillus spp.,

The anti fungal activity was also screened against Aspergillus niger. Both the extracts showed good activity against the fungi.
The results obtained in the present study suggest that the extracts revealed a significant scope to develop a novel broad spectrum of antibacterial herbal formulations.
