National Institute of Unani Medicine (NIUM) Bangalore is as an autonomous organization under the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India working since 2004. This Institute is being developed as a model of post graduate, teaching, training and research in Unani System of Medicine. The campus now houses an Academic Block, Hospital Building, Library, Pharmacy, Administrative Block, Herbal Garden, Animal House, Guest House, Indoor Games Hall, Hostels, Residential Blocks and several other units.
Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for the following posts to be filled on Direct/Deputation including short term contract basis in the National Institute of Unani Medicine, Magadi Main Road, Kottigepalya, Bengaluru-560091.
Pharmacy Assistant : 01 Post (UR) on Direct Recruitment Basis
Pay Level-2 Pay Matrix : Rs.19900-63200/- as per 7th CPC
Age : Not exceeding 25 years.
Essential Qualification : 1) Intermediate OR equivalent qualification from recognized Institution/University /Board.
2) One year Unani Pharmacy certificate course OR 3 years’ experience working in Unani Pharmacy/Dispensary as Pharmacy Attendant.
3) Knowledge of Computer.
Desirable : Knowledge of Hindi/Urdu/English/Kannada
Pharmacy Attendant : 01 Post (UR) on Direct Recruitment Basis
Pay Level-1 Pay Matrix : Rs.18000-56900/- as per 7th CPC
Age : Below 28 years.
Essential Qualification :
1) Matriculation OR equivalent examination with three years’ experience in dispensing medicine in a reputed Institution.
2) Knowledge of Hindi/Urdu.
Nursing Officer : 01 Post (OBC) on Direct Recruitment/Deputation
Basis Pay Level-7 Pay Matrix : Rs.44900-142400/- as per 7th CPC.
Age : Not Exceeding 30 years.
Direct Recruitment Essential Qualification :
1) (a) B.Sc. (Hons.) in Nursing/B.Sc. Nursing from an Indian Nursing Council (INC) recognized Institute or University. OR Post-basic B.Sc. Nursing from an Indian Nursing Council (INC) recognized Institute or University.
(b) Registered as a Nurse or Nurse & Midwife (RN or RN &RM) with State/Indian Nursing Council.
OR (2) (a) B.Sc. Nursing (AYUSH)in concerned system of Medicine from an AYUSH recognized Institute/University.
(b) Registered with the respective State/Indian AYUSH Nursing Council.
OR (3) (a) Diploma in General Nursing Midwife from Indian Nursing Council (INC) recognized Institute/ Board or Council.
(b) Registered as Nurse or Nurse & Midwife (RN or RN & RM) with State/Indian Nursing Council.
(c) Two-years experience in minimum 25-bedded hospital after acquiring the educational qualification mentioned above.
OR (4) (a) Diploma in Nursing & Pharmacy of AYUSH and Registered with the respective State/Indian AYUSH Nursing Council.
(b) Two-years experience in minimum 25-bedded hospital after acquiring the educational qualification mentioned above.
Fees Details
The prescribed application fee for each post is Rs.2000/- (for SC/ST candidates Rs.1600/-). Persons with Disabilities (PwD) are exempted from payment of the application fee. The fee should be submitted in the form of a Demand Draft drawn in favour of “The Director, National Institute of Unani Medicine, Bengaluru”, payable at Bengaluru. Candidates applying for more than one post must submit separate application forms along with prescribed fee, and required documents separately for each post. Note: Application fee once received shall not be refunded.
Instructions to Candidates
1. The application has to be submitted in the format given at Annexure-I only.
2. Age relaxation to SC/ST/OBC candidates is in accordance with the order issued by the Govt. of India from time to time.
3. Age will be determined as on the closing date for receipt of application.
4. The recruitment/appointment of candidates in the Institute is governed by the NIUM Service Rules.
5. Applicants must follow all the instructions as given in the Advertisement. The applicants shall be solely responsible for reading all the instructions and filling up the form accordingly. The Institute shall in no way be responsible for any error/omission/commission/suppression of relevant information by the applicant knowingly/unknowingly/overtly/covertly while filling up the application form and submitting the documents required therein.
6. In service candidates may submit an advance copy of the application under intimation to their Cadre-Controlling Authority to avoid delay. However, only those applications will be considered which are received through proper channel with the approval of the Cadre- Controlling Authority within the last date of receipt of the application.
7. The advance copy of the application must be submitted along with the original Demand Draft, the application which is forwarded through “The Proper Channel” subsequently must be accompanied by a photocopy of the same Demand Draft along with the approval of Cadre Controlling Authority should reach the Institute within the last date of receipt of the application.
8. The Institute will not be responsible for late receipt and non-receipt of the Application Form within the last date for receipt of application.
9. The candidate appointed on Direct Recruitment Basis in the Institute shall be governed by the National Pension Scheme of the Government of India presently in force.
10. SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates have to submit their Caste Certificate in the proforma given at Annexure-II/III/IV only, duly signed by the prescribed competent authority. The validity of such a certificate shall be considered as per the instructions of the Government of India issued from time to time. Failing to enclose such a certificate in the proforma prescribed along with the application form by the candidates belonging to these categories shall be considered only as a general candidate. No such certificate shall be entertained after submission of the application form.
11. The candidates will be solely responsible in case the submitted documents/certificates are found fake/forged/incorrect/fabricated/falsified at any point of time. In such situation, the action will be taken as per the Rules and Regulations of the Institute. If he or she found guilty, his/her candidature shall be liable to be cancelled at any stage of recruitment/at any time during the tenure of service, and appropriate legal action may be initiated.
12. Incomplete applications or those received after the due date or those not accompanied by copies of the required certificates and testimonials or received without prescribed fee are liable to be summarily rejected. Applications received after the closing date will not be accepted under any circumstances, including those submitted through proper channel.
13. The Institute reserves the right to verify the recognition of Institutes/ Universities/Colleges/Boards, experience etc.
14. In case of any inadvertent mistake in the process of advertisement/scrutiny/selection, which may be detected at any stage, even after the issue of the Interview letter or Appointment Letter, the Institute reserves the right to modify/withdraw the same or cancel the selection process altogether. In case of any dispute arising out of such a situation, the decision of the Institute shall be final and binding on the applicant(s).
15. The Institute reserves the right to hold/not to hold the Selection Process for any or all of the Post(s) without giving any reason. 16. Last date for receipt of duly completed application is 45 days from the date of advertisement, including the day of advertisement till 5:00 pm.
17. Applications, complete in all respects, should be submitted along with self-attested photocopies of :
a. Date of Birth Certificate,
b. Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS),
c. Middle School/X/Matriculation/Intermediate /BUMS /M.D /MS /Ph.D /all marks sheets / Degree certificates.
d. Experience Certificate, if any.
e. Registration certificate on the Central Register of CCIM (presently known as NCISM) or State Register of ISM /Indian Nursing Council/State Nursing Council, Paramedical council of India/State Paramedical council etc., wherever it is essential.
18. Mere fulfilling of the minimum prescribed qualifications and experience shall not vest any right to candidates for being called for the written test/interview. The Institute reserves the right to call for written test/interview only those candidates who in its opinion, are found to be eligible. No correspondence in this regard shall be entertained. The Institute reserves the right of shortlisting of the eligible candidates to restrict the number of candidates appearing for the written test/interview.
19. All Information/corrigendum/addendum related to this advertisement/updates on recruitment shall be posted only on Institute’s website nium.in, Candidates are advised to check the Institute’s web-site on regular basis to know the status of the recruitment. No separate correspondence will be made in this regard.
20. The Institute reserves the right to cancel or modify this advertisement for all/some/any posts without assigning any reason.
21. The number of vacancies indicated in the advertisement is tentative and subject to change based on the Institute’s requirements at any stage of the recruitment process.
22. Applicants should write clearly the Name of the Post applied for, on the Envelope in Bold letters.
23. No TA/DA shall be paid by the Institute for attending written test / interview.

25. Any addendum, corrigendum or updates related to this advertisement will be published only on the Institute’s official website.
26. Canvassing in any form shall attract disqualification and no correspondence shall be entertained in this regard.
27.
