The National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (NIIST), Thiruvananthapuram, is a constituent Laboratory of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). Initially established in 1975 as a CSIR Complex, it was named as the Regional Research Laboratory in 1978 and later renamed as NIIST in 2007. Its mandate is to conduct research and development activities of the highest quality in areas related to effective utilization of resources of the region and of fundamental importance to the country.
This Institute invites eligible candidates for a Walk-in-interview for filling up the following purely temporary positions as detailed below
Project Associate-I (One Post)
Post Code : CSTD-4
Qualification : M.Sc in Chemistry from a recognized University or Equivalent. Desirable: Experience of writing the manuscript, project proposal, and policy
Monthly Stipend : Rs.31,000/-+ 18% HRA for those who have qualified CSIR- UGC / ICAR /ICMR NET OR GATE qualified Rs.25,000/-+ 18% HRA for others who do not fall under (a) above.

Qualification : PhD in Chemistry / Medical Chemistry from a recognized University or Equivalent.
Desirable : Lab Experience in synthetic organic chemistry. Knowledge of the design and synthesis of molecular probes having photodynamic therapy & their photophysical characterization.
Monthly Stipend : Rs.47,000/-+ 16% HRA
Age Limit (Max. as on the date of Walk-in-interview) : 40 Years

* Waitlisted Candidates may be considered for any future project vacancies arising within a year from the date of interview in the order of merit.
Mode of Selection
Interested eligible candidates should report at CSIR-NIIST, Pappanamcode, Thiruvananthapuram at 09.00 AM, on the dates mentioned assign each post code. Candidates reaching after 09.30 AM will not be entertained. Only those whose final results have been declared as on the date of walk in interview will be eligible.

The prescribed application form provided below may be downloaded and all requisite information has be filled in. The filled in signed application along with photo pasted has to be submitted at the time of Walk-in-Interview. The application form should be accompanied by SELF ATTESTED COPIES OF CERTIFICATES & MARKLISTS (MATRICULATION ONWARDS) of testimonial / certificate in support of age, educational qualification, experience and caste mentioned in the application.
THE APPLICANT MUST ALSO BRING ALL THE ORIGINAL CERTIFICATES / TESTIMONIALS AT THE TIME OF WALK-IN-INTERVIEW FOR VERIFICATION.
Written test will be conducted, if necessary.
Interim enquiries will not be attended to.
