Applications / Nominations are invited for the post of Director/Executive Director on deputation (including short-term contract) basis in each of the following seven (07) institutions of Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council (iBRIC). Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council (BRIC) is an apex autonomous body of Department of Biotechnology (DBT).

3. Director : Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD) ; Imphal, Manipur
4. Director : National Institute of Plant Genome Research (NIPGR) ; New Delhi
5. Director : National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB) ; Hyderabad, Telangana
6. Director : Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (RGCB) - vacancy arising on 01.10.2025 ; Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala
7. Executive Director : National Agri-Food and Biomanufacturing Institute (NABI), Mohali - vacancy arising on 01.01.2026 ; Mohali, Punjab

Pay Scale : Level-16 in the 7th CPC Pay Matrix with usual allowances as admissible under applicable rules.
Method of Recruitment : Deputation (including short-term contract)

Tenure : Maximum period of 5 years.
Age Limit : Not exceeding 58 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.

Eligibility Conditions : Scientists from Central/ State Governments, Research Institutes, Autonomous Bodies, Government funded Research Organizations/ Institutes etc.
(i) Holding analogous post on regular basis in the parent Cadre / Department; or
(ii) With 1 year service rendered in post of Level 15 on regular basis or equivalent in the parent Cadre / Department; or
(iii) With 4 years service rendered in post of Level 14 on regular basis or equivalent in the parent Cadre / Department and possessing the qualification & experience as below :
6 (i) Educational Qualification : Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in any discipline of Life Sciences/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry /Chemistry/ Computational Biology/ Pharmaceutical Sciences/ Agricultural Sciences / Plant Sciences/ Veterinary Sciences/ related disciplines; or Ph.D in Engineering or Technology in disciplines like Chemical/ Biomedical /Pharmaceutical engineering or Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) in any branch of medicine from a recognised University or Institute.
(ii) Experience Minimum : Twenty years of Research and Development experience in the field of Biotechnology / Life Sciences after possessing the minimum educational qualification as prescribed in (i) above.
(iii) Desirable (a) Experience in successfully running large programme, centre, institutions
(b) Experience of guiding research activates in the area of specialization.
(c) Proven track record, excellent publications in reputed journals and with high number of citations, patent and awards
