BRIC-Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI) is an Institute of the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council, Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. The institute conducts innovative translational research and to develop research collaborations across disciplines and professions to translate concepts into products to improve human health.

This recruitment is to fill up the vacancies of BRIC-THSTI under the following projects.

Project Research Scientist-II
Project : Anti-nephrin antibodies in pediatric nephrotic syndrome: Implications for diagnosis and therapy
PI : Dr. Gaurav Batra
No of post : One post
Monthly consolidated emoluments : Rs. 67,000/- plus HRA
Age Limit : 40 years
Essential & Desirable qualifications & Experience : Post-Graduate degree in any branch of Life Sciences, including the integrated PG degree, from the recognized university with three (3) years’ of post- qualification experience in the relevant field. OR Ph.D. in any branch of Life Sciences from a recognized university.
Job description/ Skills required : Experience in the development of new immunoassays for clinical use (ELISA/ Lateral flow assay), recombinant protein production and purification from mammalian cells.

Job description/ Skills required : Experience in the preparation of culture media, buffers, agarose gel, PAGE, inventory management, bacterial work, mammalian work etc

Project : Evaluation of novel dipstick-based molecular techniques for early detection of Gram-negative ESKAPE (KAPE) organisms and antimicrobial resistance genes in burn wounds

Job description/ Skills required : Experience in aerobic and anaerobic microbial culturing, resistance profiling, metagenomic DNA extraction, and PCR.

Project Scientist-II
Project : BRIC- Bio Foundry- A Bio Enabler at the NCR Bio Cluster for Promoting Bio Manufacturing of High-Quality Bio-Innovation Leads

Essential & Desirable qualifications & Experience : Ph.D. in any branch of Life Sciences from the recognized university with three (3) years of post-qualification experience in the relevant field.
Job description/ Skills required : The selected candidates will be involved in the characterization of microbial isolates with potential therapeutic applications. Responsibilities will include optimizing biomass production at small and medium scales, characterizing microbial products for bioactivity and stability, and establishing optimal storage conditions to ensure long- term viability and functionality. The role requires hands-on experience in microbiological techniques, fermentation processes, and basic biochemical analyses.

Essential & Desirable qualifications & Experience : Ph.D. in any branch of Life Sciences from the recognized university with seven (7) years of post-qualification experience in the relevant field.
Job description/ Skills required : • The selected candidates will be involved in genome-based analysis of microbial isolates with potential therapeutic applications. Key responsibilities include the identification and functional annotation of genes, peptides, and metabolites with antimicrobial, anti- inflammatory, or antisteatotic properties. 
• Candidates must possess strong scientific knowledge and demonstrated experience in navigating and analysing microbial genome databases, supported by quality research publications. 
• Proficiency in computational biology tools is important, including hands- on experience with R packages, Linux-based environments, and relevant bioinformatics pipelines. Familiarity with genome mining for bioactive compounds will be considered an advantage

Project Scientist
Project : Optimized salicylamide derivatives and prodrugs for the treatment of influenza infections
PI : Dr. Sweety Samal ; Co-PI : Dr. Dinesh Mahajan

Age Limit : 40 years
Essential & Desirable qualifications & Experience : Ph.D. in any branch of Life Sciences from a recognized university with one (1) year of post-qualification experience in relevant field. Desirable: Previous experience of working in a drug discovery project and/or a drug discovery team. The candidate should have experience in small animal handling, oral gavage, organ harvesting, and blood draw. A candidate who has oral/IV pharmacokinetic experience (in life experiments) in rodents shall be preferred.
Job description/ Skills required : • To work on drug metabolism and pharmacokinetic experiments involving new chemical entities, utilizing both in vivo and ex vivo study models with no or minimal supervision. 
• To work in a time-bound manner to meet the defined project goal. 
• To assist other team members working on similar projects

Project : Improving maternal and neonatal outcomes using imaging data science

Job description/ Skills required : • The candidate is expected to lead the qualitative / mixed-methods research, encompassing, design, conduct, analysis and interpretation of results. 
• To assist the PI in conducting stakeholder meetings, policy review and report writing on improving antenatal care with modern technologies. 
• To write/ co-write popular newspaper articles, blog posts and social media content to increase the public awareness on the advantages and disadvantages of use of AI technologies in antenatal healthcare in India.

Technical Assistant
Project : Evaluation of transmission dynamics of bacterial infections causing culture- positive sepsis among Indian neonates in hospital settings - implications for preventive strategies
PI : Dr. Krishnamohan Atmakuri

Essential & Desirable qualifications & Experience : B.Sc. from a recognized university. OR Three year’s Diploma in Engineering or Technology from a recognized university.
Job description/ Skills required : • DNA extraction from different samples, strong bench and working knowledge in molecular biology, microbiology and biochemistry. 
• Able to communicate well, understand scientific communication, willing to learn, travel to collaborating sites for procuring samples, data entry. 
• Able to manage research lab and involve in inventory and routine maintenance of the lab, media preparations and sample storage.

Essential & Desirable qualifications & Experience : Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university.
Job description/ Skills required : 
• Project associated administrative works including communication with different institutes, funding agency, project staff. 
• Should have training, understanding, and knowledge in broader areas of life sciences/biotechnology 
• Organize regular review meetings; make record notes, minutes of the meeting etc. 
• Should be comfortable with managing digital tools eg. virtual meeting platforms, PowerPoint presentations, MS Excel, monitoring dashboards, etc. 
• Keep track of project activities and manage consolidation of scheduled updates on objectives and deliverables 
• Note drafting, budgeting, responses to the financial queries and preparation of sanction orders 
• Excellent time management skills and ability to work under short timelines 
• Ability to learn quickly and efficiently 
• Manage order, procurement & recording of Scientific consumable stocks of lab

General Terms & Conditions
a) These are the short-term positions, and extension will be granted subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbents and tenure of the project for which they are selected. Those appointed to these positions will not have any claim for regularization of their employment. 
b) All educational, professional and technical qualifications should be from a recognized Board/University. 
c) The experience requirement specified above shall be the experience acquired after obtaining the minimum educational qualifications specified for the post. The candidates are required to satisfy themselves, before applying /appearing for the selection process, that they possess the minimum eligibility criteria as laid down in the recruitment advertisement. No query will be entertained with regard to eligibility criteria. 
d) The date of Interview of the respective post will be the CRUCIAL DATE for determining eligibility with regard to age, experience, essential qualification etc. 
e) Age and other relaxations for direct recruits and departmental candidates: 1. By five years for candidates belonging to SC/ST communities. 2. By three years for candidates belonging to OBC communities. 3. For Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) falling under the following categories: (i) UR - ten years, ii) OBC - 13 years (iii) SC/ST - 15 4. Age is relaxable for Central Government servants up to five years in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the Central Government, from time-to-time. 5. Institute employees will get the age relaxation to the extent of the service rendered by them as on closing date of advertisement. 6. For Ex-servicemen upto the extent of service rendered in defence forces (Army, Navy & Air force) plus 3 years provided they have put in a minimum of 6 months attested service.

g) All communications will only be made through email. h) In case many candidates appear for the walk-in interview, screening will be done to limit the number of candidates to those possessing higher/relevant qualification and experience. 
i) The no. of vacancy indicated above may change subjected to the actual requirement at the time of Written test/skill test/interview. 
j) With regard to any provisions not covered in this notification, the bye laws of THSTI / Govt. of India rules / guidelines shall prevail.

For posts mentioned above, interested candidates fulfilling the criteria as mentioned above may walk-in for written test/skill test/interview at 9:00 am on the date mentioned against each positions at THSTI, NCR Biotech Science Cluster, 3rd Milestone, Faridabad-Gurugram Expressway, Faridabad – 121001.

1) The candidates must bring their latest CV/resume, one set of photocopy of documents in support of their educational qualification and experience along with their originals and a valid ID card for verification. 
2) Candidates coming after the time slot mentioned will not be entertained.
