Opportunity for Non-Medical Professionals at NCDIR

The National Center for Disease Informatics and Research (NCDIR), Bengaluru is one of its kind of unique institution which utilizes information science for health research as its integral component. This has been amply demonstrated by the evolution of the ICMR National Cancer Registry Program (NCRP) since 1982,which has now blossomed into a vibrant network of multi-disciplinary researchers representing more than 700 sources of cancer registration across the country.

Applications are invited for the posts to be filled upon purely time bound contractual basis for a period of one year at ICMR-NCDIR, Bengaluru.

Post : Consultant (Scientific – Medical / Non-Medical)

Number of Vacancy : Two (2) posts

Consolidated salary : Rs. 1,00,000 – Rs. 1,50,000/-

Age Limit Between : 35 – 55 years


Essential Qualification 
Medical : Professionals having proven competency and success in the area of specialization, with at least 10 years of post-qualification experience and should possess minimum MBBS or BDS or equivalent degree in relevant subject. 
Note : 1. Ph.D. will be considered as 4 years’ experience (irrespective of duration taken to complete the degree). 
2. MD/MS or equivalent is taken as 3 years’ experience. 
3. MPH will not be considered as any experience. Non-Medical Professionals having proven competency and success in the area of their area of specialization, with at least 10 years of post-qualification experience and should possess minimum M.Sc / B.Tech / BE / MCA / MPH / B.Pharma or equivalent degree in relevant subject. 
Note : 1. Ph.D. will be considered as 4 years’ experience (irrespective of duration taken to complete the degree). 
2. MPH / ME / M.Tech / M.Pharma will not be considered as any experience.

Desirable Qualification & Experience : 
1. Good familiarity with database, programming, statistical software use. 
2. Experience of conducting multicentric epidemiology studies. 
3. Publications in reputed peer reviewed journals. 
4. Experience of working in digital health. 

Nature of Duties 
1. Undertaking data analysis and report writing 
2. Developing health related research proposals/strategies/road maps. 
3. Evidence synthesis 
4. Developing factsheets/policy briefs etc for dissemination. 
5. Providing epidemiological insights in NCD related research.


Duration : The initial term of engagement will be for one year. Any subsequent extensions, if applicable will be considered on a case by case basis, subject to job requirements/ performance.

Terms and Conditions
1. Interested candidates may download the application format from icmr.gov.in or ncdirindia.org and submit it via email with supporting documents in chronological order. 
2. The duly completed advance copy of the application, affixed with a recent passport- sized photograph and accompanied by self-attested copies of relevant documents and experience certificates, must be submitted via email to recruitment@ncdirindia.org on or before 5:00 PM on 02-06-2025. Late submissions will not be considered. 
3. Candidates must bring the hard copy of their submitted application on the day of the walk-in interview, i.e., 10-06-2025. They are also required to carry original certificates along with a set of self-attested photocopies of relevant documents, including educational and professional qualifications, experience certificates, and publications (if any). 
4. Entry into the institute for the walk-in interview will not be allowed under any circumstances after 10:30 AM for Consultant (Scientific – Medical / Non-Medical). 
5. Incomplete applications, applications without photographs, or applications lacking copies of relevant certificates will not be considered. No further correspondence regarding incomplete applications will be entertained. 
6. Qualifications and experience must be in the relevant field from a recognized institution. Only experience gained after the minimum qualification will be considered. 
7. Individuals currently employed in regular service under any Government Department/Organization are not eligible to apply.
8. No travel allowance (TA) or dearness allowance (DA) will be provided for attending the test/interview. 

9. Any attempt to influence the selection process or engage in canvassing will lead to immediate disqualification.
10. Providing false or incorrect information at any stage of the selection process will result in immediate disqualification. 
11. Meeting the minimum qualifications and experience does not guarantee selection. The final decision will be based on the candidate’s performance in the interview or personal discussion. 
12. The age criteria will be determined as of the date of the walk-in interview. 
13. The advertised positions are purely temporary, with an initial appointment for one year, extendable based on job requirements. The selected candidate will not have any claim for a permanent position in the Council. 
14. Selected candidates are required to join immediately or within one week from the date of the engagement offer. 
15. The Director General, ICMR, or the Director, ICMR-NCDIR reserves the right to modify the number of vacancies, cancel the recruitment process, or re-advertise the positions without prior notice. No further correspondence will be entertained in this regard. 16.
