Post : Junior Research Fellow

Applications are invited from the interested candidates for a temporary post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) to work in the ongoing research project sponsored by DST-SERB, Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India.

Project Title : Characterization and validation of tyrosine aminotransferase from Leishmania donovani as a potential drug target

Tenure of the project : 3 years

Essential Qualification
1. First class in M. Sc. (Biochemistry / Biotechnology) B.E / B.Tech/ orEquivalent degree in Biotechnology / Industrial Biotechnology / Biochemical Engineering/ Biomedical Engineering
OR
2. First class in ME / M.Tech / MS in Biotechnology / Industrial Biotechnology / Biochemical Engineering / Biomedical Engineering / Computational Biology / Biopharmaceutical technology
3. In the case of SC/ST candidates, the eligibility criteria is CumulativeGrade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 6.0 on a 10 point scale gradingsystem, or not less than 55% marks in aggregate.
4. Candidates with GATE / NET scores will be preferred.

Desired qualifications : Prior knowledge/experience in Molecular biology techniques, Protein expression/Purification/ cell culture

Emoluments : Rs. 31,000/- pm for first 2 years and 35,000/- pm for third year. HRA as per institute rules. The selected candidate is also eligible for on campus Hostel &Mess facilities at their own expenses.

Job Requirements
The selected candidates need to work for the progress of the project by performing experiments in Cell culture, Molecular cloning, Gel electrophoresis, Protein purification, etc. and Preparation of research reports.
