Job Description
• Perform GC/MS and LC/MS analysis projects/testing with minimal supervision. Write test reports.

Test preparation
• Review job request, relevant MSDS and fully understand requirements in accordance with laboratory SOPs
• Review timelines and discuss schedule conflicts or modifications with laboratory management (and project manager, where necessary) Document preparation appropriately using datasheets or laboratory notebooks

Performing tests
• Perform test work according to laboratory request requirements. Record raw data directly onto datasheets or into laboratory notebook. Immediately notify laboratory management of any test delays, problems or deviations
• Sample analysis, data processing and troubleshooting of methods.
• Adhere to applicable methods, protocols, SOPs, safety standards, GLP and regulatory guidelines.
• Sample analysis using GC/MS and LC/MS and data processing and interpretation.
• Document all project work according to applicable SOPs, accurately record observations.
• Perform method troubleshooting, laboratory investigations and data interpretation.

Test completion
• Create an accurate and timely laboratory report reflective of the laboratory request requirements. Report hours spent on project

Supporting activities
• Understand how various laboratory systems (including purchasing, calibration, materials inventory) are maintained. Responsibility for maintenance of such a system may be assigned
• Assist with general laboratory housekeeping
• Attend training courses as required
• Follow assigned work schedule and meet expected target dates
• Attend customer audits as required
• Routinely suggest ideas and actions to improve laboratory efficiency
• Maintain up to date knowledge of current regulatory issues and guidelines relating to the products being tested
• Develop expertise by regular communication with other Pall groups
• Support management in preparation for audits, including document review

Candidate Profile
• Bachelor degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related with 2+ years of experience in Analytical Chemistry or Master degree with 0+ years of experience will be considered.
• 1+ years experience and proficiency with HPLC, GCMS or LCMS instrumentation.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with modern data acquisition and analysis software. Direct experience with Agilent and Waters software is highly desirable.
• Good understanding of Chromatographic and Mass spectrometry principles
• Experience in method development and validation is preferred.
• Experience in wet lab techniques.
• Problem-solving skills, attention to detail and ability to excel in a team environment.
• Work independently and provide scientific analysis of data
• Identify issues within a project and propose solutions based on current practices or ability to propose new ideas
• Use independent judgment for individual daily tasks, require minimal supervision
• Skilled in laboratory techniques and measurement methods
• Practical ability to perform test work and execute work instructions
• Good written and verbal communication
• Conversant with PC based programs
