Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) plans to re-engage of Retired Railway Staff in the following para-medical categories, for a duration upto 15.10.2026 or attaining the age of 65 years or till availability of regularly selected candidates, whichever occurs first, through “WALK-IN-INTERVIEW on the terms and conditions stipulated in para-2 below.

Rate of Monthly Remuneration : A fixed monthly amount shall be admissible as remuneration during the re-engagement period, arrived at by deducting the basic pension from the pay drawn at the time of retirement. The amount of remuneration so fixed shall remain unchanged for the term of re-engagement.

Eligibility : Retired para-medical staff in the relevant level or higher, within 65 years of age and having prescribed medical fitness, are eligible to apply. The employees who have retired in the relevant categories in higher pay levels, upto 3 levels higher than the posts being filled up through re-engagement, can also apply. However, for deciding suitability, preference would be given to staff who retired from the same pay level in terms of RBE-55/2025.

Terms & Conditions
The detail terms and conditions applicable for re-engagement of para-medical staff on contract basis as per RBE No.96/2024 are as under -
(i) No increment, Dearness Allowance and HRA shall be allowed during the tenure of the reengagement.
(ii) An appropriate and fixed amount as Transport Allowance for the purpose of commuting between the residence and the place of work shall be allowed not exceeding the rate applicable to the appointee at the time of retirement. The amount so fixed shall remain unchanged during the term of appointment. However, they may be allowed TA/DA on official tour, if any, as per their entitlement at the time of retirement.
(iii) Daily rate of deduction per day from the monthly remuneration will be applicable on pro-data basis to the re-engaged retired employees in the event of absence/not attending the duty.


(iv) All the candidates should have good physical, sound mental conditions as per Railway Medical Standards. They will be subjected to medical examination as per extant railway rules and those who are found fit in the prescribed medical examination will be re-engaged.
(v) Retired staff re-engaged in the Railway will not have any claim or right for his/her continuity in service or automatic extension of the period of re-engagement. The services will be terminated at the end of the engagement period or on receipt of regular candidates whichever is earlier.
(vi) The railway administration will be at liberty to terminate the re-engaged retired employees at any time during the re-engagement period without assigning any reason whatsoever. The services of the retired employees shall also be terminated forthwith, if he/she/they is/are found to be mentally or physically incapacitated.
(vii) The minimum working hour is 08 hours per day that may include day/night or day-cum-night as per exigency of service.
(viii) Paid leave of absence may be allowed at the rate of 1.5 days for each completed month of service.
(ix) The rest/weekly off may be on different days not necessarily on holidays, etc.
(x) The candidates on contract are required to follow the dress code as per administrative requirement at their own cost.
(xi) In case of unsatisfactory work or misconduct on the part of the personnel so re-engaged. Railway reserves the right to terminate the engagement at any time without assigning any reason.
(xii) No private practice or any other employment will be permitted during the period of re¬engagement.
(xiii) The retired staff are personally responsible for payment of professional tax, income tax and other duties/taxes levied by the State/Central Government from time to time.
(xiv) The detail instructions regarding duties and responsibilities, while on execution of Re¬engagement agreement with Railway Administration, shall be given to the selected Retired staff candidates along with offer of engagement.
(xv) The Railway Administration reserves right to cancel, amend or otherwise modify all or any of the terms of this notification without assigning any reason(s) thereto.

The “WALK-IN-INTERVIEW'’ for re-engagement of retired Para-Medical Staff as for the above- mentioned posts is scheduled to be held on 22.07.2025 at 11:00 Hrs. in the Seminar Room in Kasturba Gandhi Hospital/CLW/Chittaranjan. Eligible and willing candidates should report at 10:00 Hrs. for preliminary registration of their candidature. No TA/DA/Accommodation will be provided to the candidates attending the interview. They will make their own arrangements for accommodation, if the interview extends to the second day.


Eligible and willing retired staff must bring two recent passport size photographs (one to be affixed on the application form) and the original service certificate. Pensioner’s Identity Card, Pension Payment Order, Aadhaar Card etc. One additional copy of all the documents should be brought by the retired staff duly self-attested.

Retired Railway Staff are advised to bring the filled application form (format enclosed) and submit at the time of reporting on the day of “WALK-IN-INTERVIEW” as scheduled at Para-4 above. Any modification in the prescribed application format or incomplete application or unsigned application or unregistered application or application without required enclosures (as mentioned at Para-5 above) will not be entertained and liable to be summarily rejected.
