NIAB, an autonomous institute under the aegis of Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, is aimed to harness novel and emerging biotechnologies and create knowledge in the cutting edge areas for improving animal health and productivity. The Institute’s research focus is on animal genetics and genomics, transgenic technology, reproductive technology, diseases, nutritional enrichment, and bioinformatics. Post : Junior Research Fellow - 02 posts

(i) BIRAC funded project entitled “Development of point-of-care diagnostics for detection of venom proteins of Naja naja (Cobra) and Bungarus caeruleus (Krait) in envenomed animals” PI: Dr. Pankaj Suman, Scientist-C; (Project Duration - 6 months).

Essential qualification: Master’s Degree in Life Sciences (Biochemistry, Biotechnology etc.) with NET qualification. Non-NET candidates can also attend the interview who will be paid as per their eligibility. OR Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course (MVSc, M.Tech in Life Sciences etc.)

Experience: Candidates should have expertise in recombinant protein expression and purification/ monoclonal antibody generation/maintenance of mammalian cell culture/ aptamer selection. Candidate having previous work experience in the areas of lateral flow based assay development will be preferred.

Fellowship amount: Rs. 25000/- + 30% HRA = 32,500/- PM as per the DST guidelines.

Age : 28 years (Relaxation is admissible in case of SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Government instructions)
