Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council (BRIC), an apex autonomous body of the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India, invites online applications from eligible Indian citizens for the filling up of 12 posts at the BRIC Secretariat, New Delhi on Direct Recruitment as well as on Deputation basis (including short term contract) as detailed in (A) and (B) below and in compliance to BRIC Secretariat Recruitment Rules, 2025.
BRIC functions as the apex body of 13 prestigious autonomous research institutes under DBT and plays a vital role in the strategic coordination, oversight, and support of biotechnology research across the country.
Deputy Director General (Science)

Job Description
1) Assisting the Deputy Director General (Science) in the formulation, implementation, and monitoring of scientific programmes and research initiatives undertaken by the BRIC Institutes
2) Supervisory role for Science Administration and Communication vertical of BRIC Secretariat
3) Academic Coordinator for I3c BRIC-RCB Ph.D Programme and academic activities of BRIC.
4) Preparation of Annual Budget and scientific plan of BRIC Institutes
5) Scientific review of BRIC Institutes
6) Coordination of Outreach Scientific activities of BRIC
7) Coordination with BRIC Institutes for strategic planning of R&D activities, strengthening of core research areas, and aligning institutional research priorities with national science and technology missions.
8) Support in Organizing Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC), Governing Body (GB) and other expert committee meetings, including drafting of agenda, background material, and action taken reports related to scientific matters.

Job Description
1) Support to Director (Science) and DDG (Science) in the planning, coordination, and execution of scientific programmes, research initiatives, and policy matters concerning BRIC Institutes.
2) Implementation and Monitoring of Integrated, Multi-Disciplinary Research Programmes, academic and training programmes, and science communication activities across BRIC Institutes, in alignment with national missions and priorities.
3) Coordination of BRIC Thrust Areas, ensuring synergy among institutes in key research domains and facilitation of inter-institutional collaboration.
4) Convening Meetings of the BRIC Scientific Advisory Board (SAB), including preparation of agenda notes, minutes of meetings, and ensuring timely follow-up on action points.
5) Handling of Technical Matters with DBT, including preparation of monthly and periodic scientific reports, replies to Parliament Questions, VIP references, and RTI matters related to scientific programmes.
6) Preparation of the Annual Report of the Society, compiling scientific achievements, impact narratives, and institutional performance indicators.
7) Science Communication and Public Relations, including dissemination of scientific achievements within and outside the organization, media coordination, and stakeholder engagement.
8) Management of IT Infrastructure, including oversight of the BRIC website, scientific data portals, and digital outreach platforms. 9) Coordination of Academic Programmes in collaboration with RCB and other partner institutions.
Eligibility
(i) The Pay Levels mentioned above are as per the pay structure of 7th Pay Commission of the Government of India. Other benefits will be regulating as per the Bye-laws of BRIC Secretariat.
(ii) All applicants must fulfill the requirements of the post and other conditions stipulated in the advertisement and are advised to satisfy themselves before applying in the prescribed format as per Annexure-1.
(iii) Age Limit: Age limit for Direct Recruitment as mentioned in the tabulation I (A). Age relaxation is applicable as per Government of India rules.
(iv) Educational Qualifications & Experience : (a) Candidates must fulfill essential qualifications and experience detailed in tabulation I(A) against each posts as per BRIC Secretariat Recruitment Rules, 2025.

(vi) Probation Period : Two years for direct recruitment, extendable as per rules.
