IASST Openings under the DBT-funded project for Pharma, Chemistry, Life Sciences candidates

The Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology (IASST), Guwahati, is an autonomous R&D Institute under the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. The Institute is engaged in frontier areas of research in the specific domain of Physical, Chemical, Mathematical and Biological Sciences.

Applications are invited through online submission for contractual recruitment at IASST under the DBT-funded project “Quality Control and Quality Assurance Laboratory and Facilitation Centre for Pharmacopeia Standardisation of Herbals and Phytopharmaceuticals in North East India”

*Salary : Rs. 67,000 + 18% HRA
*Salary & increment as per Govt. of India/DBT, MoS&T (SR/S9/Z-05/2019 dated 10.07.2020) norms or as the project approval and revised time to time.

Qualification Essential : • PhD in Natural Product Chemistry / Life Sciences / Pharmaceutical Sciences / Chemistry or related disciplines.
• Demonstrated experience (Post PhD) of at least 3 years working with isolation and characterization of natural products.

Age Limit : Up to 40 years (relaxa ble as per rules)
Desirable Qualification : Experience in quality systems (e.g., NABL/GLP/GMP) , HRMS handling, SOP writing, and publications in reputed journals.
Tenure : Initially for up to one year (extendable as per norms). The approved duration of the project is 5 years. Extension may be granted after review of the work done. However, the position is terminus at any point in time.

General Terms and Conditions
(1) No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
(2) Those in employment or doing Ph.D. must submit a ‘No Objection Certificate’ from the concerned employer/Ph.D. supervisor at the time of the interview.
(3) Since the project position(s) is/are temporary, the incumbents selected will have no claim for regular appointment at IASST or continuation of his/her services in any other project.
(4) The Director & Appointing Authority has the right to accept/reject any application without assigning any reason(s), and no correspondence in this matter will be entertained.
(5) The engagement can be terminated with one month’s notice from either side without assigning any reason.
(6) Only selected candidates will be informed via mail/postal service, and the list of selected and waitlist candidates may be displayed on the website.
(7) The recruited project staff is eligible for leave as per IASST project staff recruitment guidelines and will have to give the undertakings before joining.
(8) Experience certificate should clearly state the nature of work during the period of employment with dates. Experience in the relevant discipline/field should be from a reputable institution/organization recognized by the relevant authority.

(10) Merely fulfilling the essential qualification/experience will not bestow any guarantee of selection.
(11) Selection criteria will be based on academic qualification, experience, and performance in the interview.
(12) Since the project position is purely on a temporary basis, no benefit of Provident Fund, Leave Travel Concession, etc. will be available to the appointee.
