Job Description
Drive governance for Patient Oriented Programs (POP) and Grants by setting global standards for all Novartis POPs and Grants and ensure proper implementation and sustainable compliance. In collaboration with subject matter experts, patient safety function, quality assurance, compliance and legal functions, assess compliance risks and operational gaps.Establish standards and global processes for POPs and Grants cross-divisionally (excluding Alcon) based on internal policies, guidelines and applicable external laws and regulations; Support global, regional and local implementation for key operational activities and processes.

•  Lead cross-functional remediation and compliance enhancement projects related to chief medical office activities.

•  Drive process improvements to address risk areas and to ensure better process adherence and simplification of the way we work.

•  Drive change management to promote a sustainable culture and mind-set of quality and compliance across functions, regions and countries; identify opportunities to foster alignment and ownership of governance at the regional and local level.

•  Develop, implement, and deliver training of the appropriate audience across Novartis to ensure understanding of and adherence to the Novartis policies, e.g. P3, Medical Policies and Guidelines, Pharmacovigilance and others.

•  Establish internal controls and metrics to measure effectiveness of processes, trainings and standards, such as audit outcome reviews, business/peer reviews

•  Establish and maintain effective communication channels to promote collaboration with global, regional and local medical and commercial teams and across Novartis divisions; communicate and present to Novartis senior management (e.g. the Chief Medical Office, Global Drug Development, the Portfolio Stewardship Board, etc.)

•  Work collaboratively with involved teams to establish appropriate mechanism (including processes, roles & responsibilities) to ensure readiness for internal audits and external inspections.

•  Support country organizations to set-up and execute appropriate corrective and preventive actions plans in case of major findings and where improvements are required.

•  Lead and manage the POP and Grants team in Hyderabad; report functionally to the Head POP and Grants Governance in the Global Governance Team and align on objectives with the global team.

 

Candidate Profile
Master Degree or Doctorate Degree in Science Pharm D. or M.D. desired Excellent English language skills

• Extensive (> 10 years) and relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry within medical, pharmacovigilance or governance; for Novartis internal talents less years of experience can be acceptable

• Demonstrated leadership for matrix teams in large organizations

• Ability to facilitate and influence decision making with senior leaders and drive project teams for superior results

• Excellence in communicating effectively across different audience and organizational level, including senior management

• External focus to ensure full awareness of trends and proactively address needs based on external demands

• Facilitation skills for bridging between scientific and business, and for managing effective international and cross-divisional collaboration

• Excellence in designing or re-designing business processes to meet quality and compliance standards and to simplify the way we work

• Proven ability to build strong, effective relationships with internal partners at all levels
