About Parul University

ABOUT PHD PROGRAM
The PhD program started in 2015, initially with 4 faculties and 20 students and in a span of few years we have 10 faculties offering PhD to 220 students with over 75 recognized guides in the university. The Degree of Doctor of Philosophy is awarded to a candidate who as per the regulations has successfully completed the work and has submitted the thesis of his original research in his field of specialization that makes a contribution to the advancement of knowledge and betterment of the society at large.

PREAMBLE
The objectives of the symposium titled 'Research Culture: Changing Expectations' is to assist participants in developing a strong fundamental understanding of how best to develop a research or study protocol and communicate those research findings in a conference setting or scientific journal. Completing any research project requires meticulous planning, experimental design and execution, and compilation and publication of findings in the form of a research paper. All of these are often unfamiliar to naTve researchers; thus, the purpose of this symposium is to educate participants to master the critical steps involved in the development of an idea to its execution and eventual publication of the results. The prime aim of the Symposium is to inculcate research culture and to support and fulfill the academic needs by providing hands-on training and updating the knowledge with the methods to -
i) enable the participants to define research problem, developing an approach to research problem and selection of suitable research design;
ii) impart capabilities for formulation and testing of hypothesis based on the nature of research;
iii) comprehend appropriateness of statistical software packages for analyzing research data;
iv) enable the participants to understand report writing and writing research proposals; and
iv) make the participants aware about latest trends in interdisciplinary research activities.
