M.Pharm, M.Sc candidates are invited for Junior Research Fellow in Bombay College of Pharmacy

Bombay College of Pharmacy (BCP) is a pioneering institution in Pharmaceutical education in India. BCP was founded in 1957 by the Indian Pharmaceutical Association - Maharashtra State Branch (IPA-MSB) with financial assistance from the Government of Maharashtra and several pharmaceutical corporations. Since its inception as a college offering a Diploma in Pharmacy, the college has grown in stature and at present offers Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral programs of study in Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Applications are invited from NET/GATE/GPAT/DBT-BET qualified candidates for a JRF-ship in the project titled "Eigen Value ANalysiS (EVANS): an in silico tool to address pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics and toxicity issues". This project is sponsored by Department of Biotechnology (DBT) at Bombay College of Pharmacy under the supervision of Prof. Evans Coutinho.

A fellowship of Rs. 32,500 p.m. (inclusive of HRA) will be paid to the selected candidate for one year. Subsequently the fellowship may be renewed for a further period of two individual years based on satisfactory performance of the candidate and subject to renewal by DBT. The total duration of the fellowship will be limited to three years.

Candidates with an M.Sc./M.Tech./M.Pharm. degree (or equivalent) from UGC/AICTE/MHRD etc. recognized institutes with a knowledge of pharmaceutical and medicinal chemistry and a strong interest in computational chemistry are encouraged to apply. Knowledge of computer programing with perl, python, C++ is advantageous but not mandatory. Those who have submitted their Masters thesis and are awaiting their viva-voce exam may also apply; however, if selected, the candidate must secure his Masters degree quickly.

 

Applicants may be given the opportunity to enroll for the PhD program of Mumbai University through Bombay College of Pharmacy, subject to availability of seats and the fulfilling of all terms and conditions stipulated by the University and the college. Applications (hard copy) should be received in Bombay College of Pharmacy on or before 23rd Jan. 2017, 4:00 pm closing time.

Candidates are required to submit a covering letter, c.v. and attested copies of their valid certificates/letters/documents in support of their qualification and work experience. Applicants are advised NOT to send any original certificates. Qualifying candidates must appear for a written test/interview as part of the selection process.

No TA/DA will be admissible for attending the written test/interview.
