Post : Assistant Manager - Supply Planning

Job Purpose:
This is highly critical and visible supply chain role that will handle Supply Chain Planning and External Manufacturing Operations for product portfolio. This is a hands-on position responsible for developing and executing Production Planning, Raw & Packaging Materials Planning, Driving S&OPs with Third Party Manufacturing Sites, Inventory management and project management. End to end thinking and cross functional collaboration is paramount for reliable supplies while ensuring compliance to Quality and Regulatory and optimizing cost.

Major Accountabilities

Production and Material Planning

  • Engage closely with Demand Planning team to understand demand forecast to drive subsequent inventory planning for finished products and raw/packaging materials.
  • Derive production plans to ensure high level of customer service with optimum inventory levels.
  • Raw & Packaging material planning based on production plan & forecast to ensure smooth operations.
  • Extensive Inventory management (FG and RM/PM) to ensure no stock outs and obsolescence. SLOB management and liquidations.
  • Work closely with souring team to ensure timely availability of materials at all the EM sites as per production requirements.
  • Lead new product launch management / packaging change projects for locally manufactured products.
  • Issue and escalation Management.
  • Handle SAP transactions and material master management. Lead SAP process optimization.
  • Drive process & capability improvement in the supply Planning function. Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and cost savings

 

External Manufacturing (EM) Operations:

  • Manage End to end operations at External manufacturing (EM) sites as required.
  • Capacity Planning at EMs and Developing Short term and long term supply outlook.
  • Reducing planning variability and ensure timely communication of production plans to External manufacturing (EM) sites.
  • Drive periodic formal review process with EMs and sourcing team.
  • Ensure timely product dispatches from EM sites to Janssen Warehouse for further distribution.
  • Work closely with EM sites to ensure supply reliability and resolve day to day issues.
  • Ensure timely submission of reports from EMs as part of the operating rhythm
  • Provide support to other functions like QA, R&D, Packaging Development and Direct Procurement.
  • Raise, review control of change procedure as per applicable Standard Operating Procedure
  • Lead projects at External manufacturing sites collaborating closely with all functions. Lead source change / material change projects at EMs.
  • Artwork change management at EM Sites ensuring no write-offs.
  • Material reconciliation at EM sites.
  • Ensure zero material obsolescence at EM sites.

Performance Management and MIS
KPI Management (LIFE, Inventory, SLOB, New Product launch etc.)
Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to evaluate EM Performance and drive KPI as a culture at EMs.
Develop MIS for the supply chain to enable data driven decisions.
Process automation for self-sustaining operating rhythm and improved supply chain efficiency.

Others
Ensure planning calendar adherence.
Coordinate closely with Import Team and support in import planning for FG as well as RM/PM.
Flexibility to handle other supply chain functions as and when needed.

Candidate Profile :
Educational Background:

MBA in Operations/ Supply chain from a premier business school preferably with a prior engineering degree or Masters in statistics/ related field.

Experience:
4-6 years in a Pharma/OTC/FMCG industry.
Direct experience in supply planning and Third Party Manufacturing Management is must.
Extensive spreadsheet analysis and strong mathematical abilities
Hand’s on experience in SAP is must. Excellent MS Excel skills are required.
