Mewar University is an autonomous body set up by the Government of Rajasthan through Act. No. 4 of 2009, passed by the Rajasthan Assembly (Govt. of Rajasthan). The University is further approved by the UGC under section 2 (f) of the UGC Act 1956. The University campus is situated in the vicinity of the scenic Aravali ranges, and it is spread over sprawling 30 acres at Gangrar of Chittorgarh District (Rajasthan), 18 km away from the city of Chittorgarh. The campus can be easily approached by road and railway network as it is situated on NH 79 (Delhi-Mumbai Highway) and connected with all the major cities through roads and broad-gauge railway tracks. The nearest airport is Dabhok (Udaipur), which is 100 km away from the campus and is well connected with major cities through regular flights.

Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT), Hyderabad, a constituent of CSIR is a leading research Institute in the area of chemical sciences. Raja Bahadur Venkat Rama Reddy was born on August 22, 1869, in a middle class family at Rayanpet in Wanaparthy. He lost his parents early in his childhood and was brought up by his uncle, William Wahab, who had a great influence on him. He had great passion for education which made him pursue further studies, in spite of opposition from his relatives. At the age of 18, Venkat Rama Reddy entered the police service of the erstwhile Hyderabad State and rose to the position of Police Commissioner of Hyderabad City, the first Hindu to do so. The Nizam of Hyderabad honored Sri Venkat Rama Reddy with the title of “Raja Bahadur” in recognition of his services to the state.
