The Regional Drugs Testing Laboratory, Chandigarh is the one of the six National Laboratories of the Govt of India functioning under the administrative control of the Drug Controller General (India), Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation, Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. The Laboratory has been established for quality control of Drugs and Cosmetic under the Indian Drugs & Cosmetics Act 1940. This laboratory is engaged in the analysis of bulk drugs & formulations referred by the Deputy Drugs Controller (India), Assistant Drugs Controller (India) and Drugs Inspectors from CDSCO North Zone, Ghaziabad, CDSCO Sub-Zone Chandigarh and CDSCO Sub-Zone Jammu.

Drug Controller General of India is responsible for approval of licenses of specified categories of Drugs such as blood and blood products, I. V. Fluids, Vaccine and Sera.  Central Drugs Standard Control Organization Head quarter is located at FDA Bhawan, Kotla Road, New Delhi 110002 and functions under the Directorate General of Health Services.

Government College of Pharmacy, Aurangabad has been started in 1996 with the efforts of Honorable Late Shri. Govindbhaiji Shroff as a part of his social obligation to which Marathwada region was awaiting. Initially it has been started as one of the Departments of Government College of Engineering. Subsequently in 1999, it has acquired the status of full-fledged Government College.

Now the college is situated in its status or art building of around 8000 sq. ft. The institute in its short span has established credibility to impart quality education to masses. The institute is affiliated to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad and approved by AICTE and Government of Maharshtra.

Raipur District is situated in the fertile plains of Chhattisgarh Region. This District is situated between 22o 33' N to 21o14'N Latitude and 82o 6' to 81o38'E Longtitude. The District is surrounded by District Bilaspur in North, District Bastar and part of Orissa state in South, District Raigarh and part of Orissa state in East and district Durg in West. The district occupies the south eastern part of the upper Mahanadi valley and the bordering hills in the south and the east. Thus, the district is divided into two major physical divisions, Viz., the Chattisgarh plain and the Hilly Areas.

Khadki Cantonment is one of the oldest Cantonments in India, having its own place in history. On 5th November 1817, the battle of Khadki (Khadki) was fought between the Marathas and the British on the ground covering the present day town. It was established in the year 1817. Khadki Cantonment covers an area of 3275.49 acres or 13.25 sq. km of land. In 1939, when the Second World War began, Khadki was called the Home of Ordnance since both the Khadki Arsenal and the I.A.O.C. School were located here.
