It is engaged in R&D activities on detection, protection and decontamination of chemical and biological agents. DRDE provides excellent opportunity to young and motivated researchers to pursue a research work in chemical and life sciences. The core competence of DRDE includes: synthesis, evaluation and process development for toxicants and antidotes; detection and analysis of chemicals at trace levels; development of sensors for chemical and bioloqlca agents; toxicity studies and safety evaluation of chemicals in vitro and in vivo; recombinant DNA and hybridoma technology for detection and prophylaxis against infectious agents; development of immune-based detection systems and kits for chemical and biological agents; development of vector management systems; bioremediation of organic waste at low temperature.
