The Department of Health Research (DHR) was created as a new Department under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare vide Presidential notification dated 17th September 2007 by an amendment to the Government of lndia (Allocation of Business) Rules, 1961, with the objective of facilitating a well-functioning health research system in the country.

ICMR-National Institute of Malaria Research was established in 1977 as Malaria Research Centre, which was renamed as National Institute of Malaria Research in November 2005. ICMR-NIMR is one of the institutes of the Indian Council of Medical Research, an autonomous body under Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India.

Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council is a not-for-profit Section 8, Schedule B, Public Sector Enterprise, under Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India as an Interface Agency to strengthen and empower the emerging Biotech enterprise to undertake strategic research and innovation, addressing nationally relevant product development needs.

The National Institute of Immunology (NII) is committed to advanced research addressing the basic mechanisms involved in body's defence to identify modalities for manipulation of the immune system to provide protection against diseases and understand mechanisms that can be used to target disease processes for intervention.

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi is one of the 23 IITs created to be Centres of Excellence for training, research and development in science, engineering and technology in India.  Established as College of Engineering in 1961, the Institute was later declared as an Institution of National Importance under the Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Act, 1963 and was renamed as Indian Institute of Technology Delhi”.

AIIMS, New Delhi model will be adopted and adapted. Unlike postgraduate institutes, which lack core departments like anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, general medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, etc., the new AIIMS will have these departments as well as superspecialty departments like neurosurgery, cardiac surgery, urology, endocrinology etc. . Accident and Emergency, Biostatistics, Medical Engineering, Hospital Administration, Genetics, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Telemedicine, Clinical Epidemiology and Medical Education Cell etc.

The Department of Science and Technology (DST) is implementing several women centric programmes under its umbrella scheme “Women in Science and Engineering-KIRAN (WISE-KIRAN)” in order to provide different opportunities to women in Science & Technology (S&T) domain. In this line, a new programme ‘WIDUSHI (Women's Instinct for Developing and Ushering in Scientific Heights & Innovations)’ is started by DST for senior women scientists to harness their knowledge and potential for betterment of Science and Society.

Ranked number one in India by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a Grade Point of 3.91 (on a scale of 4), JNU was ranked no 3 among all universities in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework, Government of India, in 2016 and no 2 in 2017. JNU also received the Best University Award from the President of India in 2017.

The facility is affiliated with National Institute of Plant Genome Research, New Delhi (NIPGR) and serve to facilitate genotyping services with private service providers and then advanced these, in a focused way, to meet the goal of food and nutritional security through genomics led breeding. The fundamental principle is relatively simple create and charter an entity with express purpose of serving crop or plant varietal genotyping and characterization in India. It will also help to overcome legal hurdles in Material Transfer, IPR protection, etc.
