National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneshwar, is a unique institution in India, committed to generation, dissemination and preservation of knowledge in basic sciences, integrated with the goal to create a zeal and fervor in minds of the young buds of the nation towards scientific temper. The Institute is affiliated with Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI), Mumbai, a deemed research university that oversees academic programs at Institutions that are part of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) structure.

Centre for Brain Research (CBR) offers a full-time Ph.D. Program in basic and clinical neuroscience to understand the aging brain and aging-related brain disorders.  As a research centre recognised by Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Karnataka. CBR directly admits students to the Ph.D. program. CBR also participates in the Ph.D. program of the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), wherein the students are admitted by IISc under the supervision of IISc faculty and the co-supervision of a CBR faculty member.

The National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS), an autonomous organisation aided by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, was established to facilitate cell biology research in the country.  NCCS is located within the academically-enriched campus of the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU). Institute of Nano Science and Technology (INST), Mohali (Punjab), an autonomous institution of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, has been established under the umbrella of NANO MISSION, initiated by DST to boost research and development in the field of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology in India. INST started its activities on 3rd January 2013 from its transit campus at Mohali, Punjab.

The Central University of Rajasthan has been established by an Act of Parliament (Act No. 25 of 2009) as a new Central University, and is fully funded by the Government of India. The President of India, Her Excellency Smt. Droupadi Murmu, is the Visitor of the CURAJ. Prof. Anand Bhalerao is the Vice Chancellor of the University. Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI) is a part of the inter-disciplinary Biotech Science Cluster at Faridabad in the National Capital Region. THSTI is designed to be a dynamic and interactive organization with a mission to conduct innovative translational research across disciplines and professions to accelerate the development of concepts into products to improve human health. THSTI is a recognized R&D institute of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal offering doctoral programs in biomedical science research.

Institute of Chemical Technology is a state-funded deemed university in Mumbai, India. The institute also has campuses at Bhubaneswar, Odisha and Jalna, Marathwada. It is focused on training and research in fields of chemical engineering, chemical technology, and pharmacy.
