The CSIR-Institute of Microbial Technology (IMTECH) is a constituent R&D establishment of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) devoted to research in the frontline areas of Biology and Biotechnology of Microorganism with the state of art facility. CSIR is one of the world’s largest publicly funded industrial R&D organizations with about 4600 active scientists. CSIR-IMTECH is its youngest institute with state-of-the art research facilitates in microbial biology and biotechnology. CSIR-IMTECH thrives on multidisciplinary research with core strengths in the areas of biochemical engineering, protein sciences, bioinformatics and Infection & Immunity research. CSIR-IMTECH has track record of discovering novel bio-therapeutics. The Institute is also having a world class Microbial Type Culture Centre and Gene Bank (MTCC) – an International Depositary Authority (IDA). The Institute provided with a truly world class R&D ambience in an area of over 10,000 sq.ft with a dedicated team of more than 55 highly motivated scientists with a majority of them having several years of training in World Renowned Laboratories. Director, Institute of Microbial Technology (IMTECH), invites exceptionally motivated candidates to appear for a walk-in interview on June 29, 2016 (Wednesday), (Reporting time 9.00 a.m. to 12 noon) for pursuing doctoral research at IMTECH under the aegis of the Ph.D. degree program being jointly run by IMTECH and the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. The candidates who have passed M.Sc. and cleared any of the following examination (with valid fellowship) are eligible to attend the interview. Kindly note that those candidates whose M.Sc. result is not declared till the date of the interview, the candidate must bring a certificate from the Head of the Department that he/she has passed M.Sc. without which the candidate will not be eligible for interview:
CSIR - Institute of Microbial Technology, Sector - 39/A, Chandigarh intends to engage Project Assistant, Project Fellow, JRF (Project) & Research Intern on purely temporary basis on contract under DBT/CSIR sponsored project at IMTECH. Besides following positions, a General Panel of Project Assistants, Project Fellows, JRF (Project) & Research Intern will be finalized from amongst candidates for future requirements, which will be valid for one year or till finalization afresh panel. However, the number of positions may vary depending upon the requirement of the Institute.

CSIR - Institute of Microbial Technology, Chandigarh desires to engage Research Associate/Senior Project Fellows/Project Fellows on purely temporary basis on contract under CSIR Network projects/ DBT projects at IMTECH. However, the number of positions may vary depending upon the requirement of the Institute. The Institute also wishes to draw a Panel of Research Interns under “CSIR Diamond Jubilee Research Interns Award Scheme” to attract young and brilliant candidates to demonstrate their interest in Scientific Research as well as for qualifying and securing other research fellowships. Panel will be operative for a maximum period of one year from the date of interview.
