Established in 1984, the Institute of Microbial Technology (IMTech) is one among the chain of 37 national laboratories, 6 units and 39 outreach centres of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research. Set-up to be a fore-runner in the niche domain of microbial biotechnology, the Institute in its initial years functioned from a start-up laboratory that provided a truly world-class R&D ambience in an area of over 10,000 sq. ft. to its researchers.

Essential Qualification : (i) Masters/ Integrated Masters in Natural or Agricultural or Pharmaceutical Sciences / MVSc / Animal Sciences OR Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University
Desirable : Experience in Bioinformatics or NGS Analysis
Upper age limit (Years) - 35
Monthly Emoluments : (i) Rs. 31,000/- +HRA for those candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC/ ICAR/ ICMR NET incl. lectureship/ assistant professorship or GATE or those who have qualified National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments like DBT / DST or equivalent and/or their Agencies/Institutions. (ii) Rs. 25,000/- +HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above
Project Scientist-I = 01
Essential Qualification : Doctoral Degree in Science or Masters / Integrated Masters in Engineering or
Technology from a recognized university or equivalent. and 4 Years experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and
Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services
Desirable : Expertise and experience of various NGS technologies and/ or NGS data analysis or
experience in epigenomics or single cell genome analysis
Upper age limit (Years) : 35
Monthly Emoluments : 56,000/- +HRA Increment of 5% for every 2 Years of experience in the same project
