CSMCRI with much scientific excitement has now achieved technological excellence with several granted patents in the core mandate of the institute and is one among the top performing national R&D laboratories in the country. At the beginning of 2011, the Institute has around 360 staff with 150 S&T staff on its roll and around 250 research fellows and project assistants pursing their doctoral programme.

National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute (NABI) is an autonomous Institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. The ICGEB is a unique intergovernmental organisation initially established as a special project of UNIDO. Autonomous since 1994, it runs 46 state-of-the-art laboratories, in Trieste, Italy, New Delhi, India and Cape Town, South Africa and forms an interactive network with over 65 Member States.

National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute (NABI), Mohali is inviting applications from motivated students for admission to the PhD degree program in Biotechnology for the January 2024 session. NABI is recognized as a centre by the Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB), Faridabad, for conducting PhD (Biotechnology) programs. The program will be conducted at NABI, and the degree will be awarded by RCB (rcb.res.in), an institute of national importance established through an act of parliament.

A participative bottom up approach was followed in formulating the Mission, Vision and Strategic Plan. Inputs from the entire IIT Ropar fraternity, MHRD, Board of Governors, Alumni and Industries were considered in the process.
