It is my privilege and honour to share my views on the website of PGIMS, Rohtak that our prestigious Institute Pt. B.D. Sharma, PGIMS, Rohtak has glorious and illustrious history. It has grown leaps and bounds since then to become the epicentre for patient care from across Haryana as well as neighbouring States. In its nascent stage, Medical College was started as guest Institute in 1960 at Medical College, Patiala. Due to high demand for medical education and a deficient patient care services in the southern part of Haryana which was the then part of Punjab, it was shifted to Rohtak in 1963 during the tenure of Sardar Partap Singh Kairon who was then Chief Minister of Punjab. From a small guest institute to a mammoth and prestigious Institute in the country, it has been on a constant growth path and has never looked back since then.

The CSIR-Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology. Palampur (CSIR-IHBT) is one of the National Institute under the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research which is an Autonomous Body. It is located on a 250 acres of land with the backdrop of snow-covered peaks of Dhauladhar Range in salubrious climate. The Institute is engaged in research and technology development programmes for sustainable managcmcnt of bioresources or the Himalayas. The National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS) took birth as National Tissue Culture Facility in March 11, 1986 with a mandate of basic research, teaching & training, and as a national repository for cell lines/hybridomas etc. The centre is located in the midst of academically enriched environment of University of Pune campus, Pune.
