As per Govt orders of Principal Secretary, Health & Family Welfare, vide- Go (Rt) No 2529/2011/H&FWD dated on 13/07/2011- a Comprehensive Health Plan has been prepared through a decentralized plan preparation process on a pilot basis in Alappuzha District. The District prepared health and health related projects for a total amount of Rs. 62251.98 lakhs. (Health Projects worth Rs.5619.84/- as well as Health related Projects worth Rs.56932.14/-Considering the success and participatory approach, and Campaign mood the Decentralised Comprehensive Health Plan process has been extended to all the Districts of Kerala.

The Kerala State AIDS Control Society (KSACS), plays a pivotal role in the state’s strategy in combating the HIV/AIDS epidemic. It is an autonomous society registered under the Charitable Societies Act, with its members drawn from all key government departments to ensure greater flexibility and more effective programme management.   Its work is supervised by a Governing body, chaired by the Chief Secretary of the state, and which includes as members Secretaries of various government departments like Health, Social Welfare, Finance, Education, and Project Director of KSACS, Director of Health Services, Director of Medical Education, State Drugs Controller and Inspector General of Police (Law & Order).

KSCSTE - Jawaharlal Nehru Tropical Botanic Garden and Research Institute (KSCSTE - JNTBGRI) was found in 1979 with the objective of establishing a Conservatory Botanic Garden of tropical plant resources in general and of the country and the Kerala state in particular. It also undertakes research programmes for the sustainable utilization of the resources. The idea of establishing the institute was conceived soon after the first United Nations Conference on human Environment, held in Stockholm in 1972 by the  Founder Director, the late Professor A. Abraham and its became his commitment to conserve the waning tropical plant species of India. Consequently, the institute was established as an autonomous R & D organization by the Government of Kerala in 1979.
