    IIIM Jammu has created a State-of-the-Art National Facility for small and medium scale manufacturers from north India and the state of J&K in particular to get their products manufactured under GMP/GLP conditions besides its use for research in IIIM. In 2007, CSIR-IIIM started a project to set up cGMP Herbal Drugs extraction unit with the financial assistance of CSIR under Network project. The infrastructure for setting up the facility involved the existing building site at IIIM Jammu.  The plant was designed by Chemical Engineering Division of IIIM and fabrication and installation work was carried out by M/s Bio-Chem Engineers- Pune on turnkey basis. Before the completion of the project, it was thought desirable to also include Formulation and Packaging unit.

    The Court of Directors of the East India Company sent a despatch in July, 1854 to the Governor-General of India in Council, suggesting the establishment of the Universities of Calcutta, Madras and Bombay.  In pursuance of that despatch, the University of Calcutta was founded on JANUARY 24, 1857.  The University adopted in the first instance, the pattern of the University of London and gradually introduced modifications in its constitution.

  • Walk in interview for Junior Research Fellow at NARI

    National AIDS Research Institute [NARI] was established in October 1992 in Bhosari, Pune on a seven acre plot. The Institute has progressively expanded its activities in various aspects of research on HIV and AIDS through infra-structural development, capacity building & research programmes. The present infrastructure includes the Institute housed in a 28024 sq. mtr space, residential accomadation for the staff, a power plant to ensure uninterrupted power supply and an incinerator for safe disposal of bio-waste.

    Govt. of Himachal Pradesh took up initiative in early seventies to set up a CSIR lab to make prudential use of the natural resources of the region. After several levels of discussions a formal request was made by then Chief Minister of HP to Vice President, CSIR in 1982 for initiating the matter, and giving final shape to the proposal. The dream of HP government finally came true in 1983 when the foundation stone of this National lab was laid as CSIR Complex Palampur by Prof. Nurul Hasan, former Vice President of CSIR, with then Chief Minister of HP chairing the function.

  • Walk in interview for Technical Assistant at National Institute for Research in Tuberculosis

    The National Institute for Research in Tuberculosis [Formerly Tuberculosis Research Centre (TRC)], a permanent institute under the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), is an internationally recognized institution for Tuberculosis (TB) research. It is a Supranational Reference Laboratory and a WHO Collaborating Centre for TB Research and Training. Recently, an International Centre for Excellence in Research (ICER) in collaboration with NIH was established at the Centre.  The Centre (formerly known as the Tuberculosis Chemotherapy Centre) was set up in Madras in 1956 as a 5-year project, under the joint auspices of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the Government of Tamil Nadu, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the British Medical Research Council (BMRC).

Since its inception in 1970, it has been making vigorous efforts to improve the reproductive health of people through research, education and health care services. The Institute is affiliated to the University of Mumbai which awards degrees to the M.Sc. and Ph.D students in the areas of Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Biochemistry and Applied Biology.
