Farooqia College of Pharmacy, Mysore was started in the year 1980 with D.Pharm Course and in 1992 with B.Pharm course. It has an inviable track record of success and progress. In Karnataka it has its own reputation for discipline, efficiency and standards.
Farooqia College of Pharmacy was started by Rifa-Hul Muslimeen Educational Trust, Mysore (RMET). The RMET runs several institutions under its banner like Dental, Women’s Polytechnic, Many Boys High School, Girls High School, Teachers training institute etc.
Mysore is one of the neatest and cleanest city in India. The city ruled by the Raja's and Maharaja's like Wodiyar's and Tipu Sultan. The city is known as tourist place for its Mysore Palace, Brindavan Garden, St. Philomena church, Heritage city Srirangapattana and Chamundeshwari Temple.

Sarada Vilas Educational Institution dates back to 1816, when it had a glorious beginning, with its founder the illustrious Rao Bahadur Bakshi Narasappa starting in Mysore city a school called “Sarada Vilas Patashala” to teach Sanskrit with the Royal patronage of His Higness, the Late Maharaja Sri Mummadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar. It soon shot into prominence, became a full-fledged primary school in 1870, and established itself at Lawnsdown building in 1901 with orientation to Anglo Sanskrit teaching.

Dr. Homi Jehangir Bhabha was the visionary who conceptulised the Indian Nuclear Programme and along with a handful of Scientists initiated the nuclear science research in India in March, 1944. He envisaged the vast potential of nuclear energy and its possible successful utilization in the field of power generation and allied areas. Dr. Bhabha started working with the goal of achieving self reliance in the fields of nuclear science and engineering and today’s Department of Atomic Energy which is a consortium of different and diversified fields of science and engineering is the final outcome of the farsighted planning of Dr. Bhabha. Thus, in his own words “When Nuclear Energy has been successfully applied for power production in, say a couple of decades from now, India will not have to look abroad for its experts but will find them ready at hand”.
