Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, the sixth member of the IIT fraternity, was established in 1994. The academic programme of IIT Guwahati commenced in 1995. At present the Institute has eleven departments and five inter-disciplinary academic centres covering all the major engineering, science and humanities disciplines, offering BTech, BDes, MA, MDes, MTech, MSc and PhD programmes.

The mandate of research at NCBS is the study of biology. To realize our goals of understanding living systems, we understand that research problems need to be approached from a variety of directions. We therefore have recruited, and actively encourage applications from researchers with a variety of backgrounds in the natural sciences, mathematics and computer science.  Biological problems not only require multiple approaches for their solution, but also need researchers of varied expertise to collaborate.

CSIR-Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, Lucknow, a unit of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), is a premier scientific organization involved in conducting high quality research in different areas of biological and chemical sciences and extending technologies and services to the farmers and entrepreneurs using medicinal and aromatic plants (MAPs).

The wave of globalization has propelled the expansion of Indian pharma sector. India is amongst the top 10 countries of the world, in terms of volume and value of Pharmaceutical products. Enthusiastic and entrepreneurial efforts have turned Gujarat into the hub of Pharma industry.  The innovative and translational approach of the Indian scientists resulted in paradigm shift from industrial age to knowledge enriched economy.

CSIR-URDIP has a vibrant scientific community consisting of Scientists, Intellectual Property Specialists, Technologists and Project Assistants. The scientific staff are the true strength of CSIR-URDIP. Scientists and Technologists are permanent employees while Project Assistants are hired for a fixed duration depending upon the needs of a particular project. We have an open work culture where talents are honed, achievements recognized, and every contribution is valued. Hierarchy matters very little when it comes to working relationships at CSIR-URDIP.

Biotech Consortium India Limited (BCIL) is a public limited company, promoted by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India and set up by All India Financial Institutions including IDBI, ICICI, IFCI, UTI and IFCI Venture Capital Funds Limited. BCIL was incorporated under the Companies Act 1956(Now Company Act, 2013) in 1990 with government in advisory role, development banks as major funding agency.

Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) is a not-for-profit Section 8, Schedule B, Public Sector Enterprise, set up by Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India as an Interface Agency to strengthen and empower the emerging Biotech enterprise to undertake strategic research and innovation, addressing nationally relevant product development needs.

The Laboratory was established in 1941 as a research and production centre, known as Drug Research Laboratory of J&K State and was later taken over by Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) of Govt. of India in December 1957 as Regional Research Laboratory, Jammu. In view of its core strength in natural products based drug discovery, the mandate of Institute was redefined in 2005 and its name changed to Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM)

The history of Jamia Hamdard begins with the establishment of a small Unani clinic in the year 1906 by Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed, one of the well-known practitioners of Unani System of Medicine of his time.  Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed had a vision of making the practice of Unani Medicine into a scientific discipline so that Unani medicines could be dispensed in a more efficacious manner to patients.  He gave the name "Hamdard" to his venture which means "sympathy for all and sharing of pain".  His illustrious son, Hakeem Abdul Hameed, carried forward

National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute (NABI) is an autonomous Institute under Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. NABI aims at catalysing the transformation of Agri-food sector in India by being a nodal organization for knowledge generation and translational science leading to value-added products based on Agri-Food biotech innovations for improved household nutritional security.
