The Tata Memorial Centre is a Comprehensive Cancer Centre with a mission to achieve the highest standards in patient care, cancer prevention, cancer research and professional development for oncology and allied disciplines. TMC is an autonomous body funded, controlled by the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. TMC is affiliated to Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI).

TMC is comprised of the Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC) and the Tata Memorial Hospital (TMH). ACTREC conducts a Ph.D. program in Life Sciences, affiliated to the Homi Bhabha National Institute (a deemed university under category “A” by MHRD, Govt of India). On-going research at ACTREC includes basic and translational research in Cancer Biology.

Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital, Sangrur is a joint venture of Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai and Govt. of Punjab. This hospital was started functioning since January – 2015 inside the civil hospital campus, Sangrur with an aim to provide the best quality of care and cancer treatment facilities in all aspects in an affordable cost to the patients of the Punjab and nearby states.
