National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) is the first national level institute in pharmaceutical sciences with a proclaimed objective of becoming a centre of excellence for advanced studies and research in pharmaceutical sciences. The Government of India has declared NIPER as an 'Institute of National Importance'. It is an autonomous body set up under the aegis of Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India.

Bombay College of Pharmacy is a pioneering institution in Pharmaceutical education in India. BCP was founded in 1957 by the Indian Pharmaceutical Association - Maharashtra State Branch (IPA-MSB) with financial assistance from the Government of Maharashtra and several pharmaceutical corporations. Since its inception as a college offering a Diploma in Pharmacy, the college has grown in stature and at present offers Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral programs of study in Pharmaceutical Sciences.

The Kamla Nehru Memorial Trust was established in 1973 by late Sri Kedar Nath Singh, a great visionary and philanthropist who believed that every individual deserves access to a quality education. In accordance with this vision, the KNGI educational institutes were founded, to give every student a chance at an outstanding, value-based and well-rounded education. The Trust supports and manages all the activities of the KNGI Institutions.
