Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Hyderabad is a premier R&D Institute in India. The Institute had its origin as the Central Laboratories for Scientific & Industrial Research (CLSIR), established in 1944 by the then Government of Hyderabad State. After integration of Hyderabad State with the Indian Union, the laboratory expanded with its growing activities. The main building was formally opened by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the then Prime Minister of India on January 2, 1954. In 1956, the Central Laboratories came under the aegis of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi and was renamed Regional Research Laboratory, Hyderabad (RRL-H).

IIT Bombay, set up by an Act of Parliament, was established in 1958, at Powai, a northern suburb of Mumbai. Today the Institute is recognised as one of the centres of academic excellence in the country. Over the years, there has been dynamic progress at IIT Bombay in all academic and research activities, and a parallel improvement in facilities and infrastructure, to keep it on par with the best institutions in the world. Institutes in positions of excellence grow with time. Government of India has elevated the Regional Engineering College, Rourkela to a deemed university under the name of National Institute of Technology, Rourkela.  The main objective of the Institute is to produce quality Engineers and Scientists in Graduate and Post-Graduate levels in various branches of Engineering and Science. Ayurveda is an ancient wellness and healing system that originated in the Indian subcontinent over 5,000 years ago. Its name is derived from two Sanskrit words, Ayur (life) and Veda (science) and it literally means ‘the science of life’.  Almora harnesses the knowledge of Ayurveda and combines it with modern science to create products that replenish body and spirit. We call this ‘Contemporary Ayurveda.’  The science and practice of Ayurveda are narrated in ancient texts, of which Charaka Samhita is the principal resource. This was written in the Indus Valley around 1500 BC in Sanskrit, by the great sage Charaka. Sage Charaka himself suggested that Ayurveda needed to evolve with time. He wanted Ayurveda to be an inclusive science that evolved and adapted by considering and adopting valid new information and discoveries.
