AbbVie Posts Strong Q2 2026 Results as Skyrizi and Rinvoq Drive Double-Digit Revenue Growth

AbbVie has reported strong financial results for the second quarter of 2026, driven by continued robust demand for its blockbuster immunology medicines Skyrizi and Rinvoq. The company's performance exceeded Wall Street expectations, demonstrating that its strategy to offset declining Humira sales continues to deliver positive results.

AbbVie reported second-quarter revenue of 16.99 billion USD, representing a 10.2% year-over-year increase, while adjusted earnings per share (EPS) came in at 3.65USD , surpassing analysts' estimates. On a GAAP basis, the company posted earnings of 2.03 USD per share, significantly higher than the same period last year.

The company's immunology business remained its biggest growth engine. Skyrizi generated 5.51 USD billion in quarterly sales, reflecting a 24.4% increase, while Rinvoq recorded 2.53 billion USD in revenue, up 24.5% year over year. Together, these medicines helped compensate for the continued decline of Humira, whose sales fell nearly 36% due to increasing biosimilar competition.

AbbVie's global immunology portfolio generated 8.79 billion USD in revenue during the quarter, an increase of more than 15%, reinforcing the company's leadership in autoimmune disease treatments. The neuroscience portfolio also performed strongly, with revenue rising more than 20%, supported by products including Vraylar, Botox Therapeutic, Ubrelvy, Qulipta, and Vyalev.

Despite the strong quarterly performance, AbbVie slightly lowered its full-year adjusted earnings guidance to USD 13.87–USD 14.07 per share. The revision reflects the expected impact of its planned USD 10.9 billion acquisition of Apogee Therapeutics, which is intended to strengthen the company's immunology pipeline with promising treatments for inflammatory diseases such as eczema and asthma.

Chief Executive Officer Robert A. Michael said the company continues to build momentum through strong commercial execution, regulatory progress, and investments in innovative medicines that will support long-term growth.

Analysts noted that while Humira continues to face pressure from biosimilars, the rapid expansion of Skyrizi and Rinvoq confirms AbbVie's successful transition toward a new generation of high-growth therapies. However, investors will closely watch the integration of Apogee Therapeutics and its impact on future earnings.
