The Regional Office is functioning from 01-08-2012 at Tiruchirappalli, which is famously known as Rock Fort city. The Regional Office is situated 17Kms away in the main highway of Tiruchirappalli to Pudukkottai.

The Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Amarkantak has been established by an Act of the Parliament of India. It came into existence by the Indira Gandhi National Tribal University Act, 2007 and came into action on July 2008. The jurisdiction of the University extends to the whole country and it is fully funded by the Central Government through the University Grant Commission. The University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the Panjab University is a premier institution of Pharmaceutical Education and Research in the country. The institute has covered a long and glorious journey of 76 years starting from Lahore in 1944 and finally settling to the present campus in Chandigarh at the foothills of Himachal. In its travelogue, the institute crossed multiple milestones and continue to head ahead towards the well-defined goals.

The Institute of Life Sciences was conceived in the context of globalization, to foster research competence in India and to bridge the divide between academic research and the pharmaceutical & biotechnology industries. The institute was incorporated as a non-profit entity under Section 25 of the Indian companies act, facilitating operational autonomy. Construction of the ILS building comprising 44 labs and an administrative block and spanning -130,000 sq.ft. in area, began in 2004 and was completed in January 2007. The institute was inaugurated as a public-private partnership research institute on 29th January 2007, a culmination of the efforts and initiative of the Andhra Pradesh state government, Dr. Reddy's laboratories and the University of Hyderabad.

The Blood  Group Reference Centre (BGRC)  made its debut in 1957  as a result of active interest shown by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)  in the field of blood banking. This centre which was started by ICMR basically  to solve problems in blood banking, slowly branched out  successfully to initiate research in various other related areas of immunohaematology viz.  biochemical genetics ,  red cell enzymopathies and hemoglobinopathies ,  population genetics, antenatal serology,  Immunology,  HLA etc.   In the  first  twenty five  years,  using limited space, limited  resources  and budget,  talented and highly enthusiastic young  scientists from the  center under the guidance of  dynamic  stalwarts Dr.  H M Bhatia and  Dr.  A J Baxi could produce as many as 271  publications  of which 71  were published in prestigious  international  journals.  The  centre had  many discoveries to it’s credit.
