Chandigarh the City Beautiful has one of the best educational facilities in the country. Besides the Panjab University and the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research, it has an Engineering College, College of Arts, College of Architecture, a number of Government and Private Degree Colleges and other prestigious and important research institutions. However city lacked a Medical College for graduate i.e. MBBS and postgraduate studies for the students belonging to Chandigarh.

All-India Institute of Medical Sciences was established as an institution of national importance by an Act of Parliament with the objects to develop patterns of teaching in Undergraduate and Post-graduate Medical Education in all its branches so as to demonstrate a high standard of Medical Education in India; to bring together in one place educational facilities of the highest order for the training of personnel in all important branches of health activity; and to attain self-sufficiency in Post-graduate Medical Education.

Applications are invited for the post of one Project investigator for the project entitled “Documentation and validation of Traditional Healthcare knowledge of Indian Himalayan Region: Translational approach” (Principal Investigator: Dr. Subhash Chandra Mandal, Society for Ethnopharmacology, India) supported by Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India.
