Job Description:
A. ROLE PURPOSE
The incumbent is the Head of the plant operations accountable for all the activities at the site and for achieving business objectives that ensures manufacturing schedules are adhered to, products are delivered to market in time, costs are contained and work is performed in full compliance with government regulations and Pfizer standards and values.

B. SPAN OF CONTROL
The following positions report directly to the Site Leader:
Site leads for manufacturing, supply chain/procurement, engineering, warehousing, EHS and organizational effectiveness.


The following positions report to their functional centre support leads and directly support the Site Leader in achieving site objectives:
Site leads of HR, Business Technology, Finance and Quality Operations.

C.  JOB ROLE
Key Accountabilities
1. Strategic/ Policy
Formulate manufacturing policies and staffing policies for maintaining and improving the competitive position and profitability of the operation.
Direct and coordinate all manufacturing operations to ensure on time cost-effective delivery of products.
Oversee development and implementation of site master plan including; manufacturing, utility and facility management.
Propose manufacturing objectives; develop specific short and long-range plans and programs together with supporting budget requests.


2. Operational
Manufacturing Efficiency

Direct production of animal health products consistent with established cost control methods, GMP requirements, Pfizer Quality Standards and master schedule requirements.

Plant Maintenance
Oversee the maintenance of all plant buildings and equipment, including security and protection.
Maintain all site assets to provide a quality, working environment for maximum efficiency, productivity and return on investment.
New Products
Lead product development initiatives at site to ensure early launch of new products / line extensions at optimum cost.

Safety & Environmental Health
Ensure compliance of EHS to local regulatory, GMP and Pfizer standards.
Ensure and promote safe work practices and eliminate hazards.

Quality Standards
Comply with all Pfizer Quality Standards applicable to products and processes to ensure minimum product complaints and zero product recalls.

3. People
Plan & assess
Deploy personnel in an optimal manner to maximise productivity
Encourage teamwork amongst departments and groups
Manage & motivate
Actively develop and prepare leaders within the Plant
Motivate and retain key personnel
Communicate with subordinates and give timely feedback on performance
Demonstrate and promote Pfizer core values across the site
Evaluate & reward
Set targets and objectives jointly for key positions
Appraise performance on the achievement of targets against predefined objectives and recommend career progression decisions.

4. Financial
Meet revenue and expense budget.
Prepare and implement cost improvement projects to achieve savings targets.

5. Technology
Constantly evaluate technology development in improving manufacturing effectiveness.
Co-ordinate with BT to automate processes to reduce costs and enhance effectiveness.
Encourage use of BT in all the manufacturing processes.

Candidate Profile:
JOB SPECIFICATIONS

1. Qualifications
Degree in Science/ Pharmacy, preferably with Business Administration
10-12 years experience in similar capacity in the Pharmaceutical Industry
Experience of managing site, projects and cross-functional teams
Experience of business strategy and planning
Experience of matrix and team management
