Job Description:
Aurigene seeks experienced, senior scientific leaders with proven experience in leading Drug Discovery programs from Discovery to early clinical development, for its Drug Discovery operations at Hyderabad/ Bangalore. Interested candidates (Medicinal Chemists/ Biologists) with deep expertise in to the following therapeutic areas may apply - Oncology, Inflammatory, Anti-infective & Metabolic disorders.

Brief description of the responsibilities
1. Target evaluation, selection
2. Formulating coherent research plans for drug discovery from target to IND with a desired target product profile.
3. Leading a group of scientists across various disciplines (Molecular/ cell biology; medicinal chemistry; Pharmacology, toxicology) together with the function heads and delivering on the research plan.
4. Interfacing with the internal (management) and external (collaborators/ licensees) stakeholders in respect of the scientific program.
5. Mentoring team members to develop internal scientific leadership & capabilities
6. Providing scientific leadership and Therapeutic Area expertise to the organization in the area of expertise of the candidate
7. Form a part of the strategic think tank for the company to help lead the organization to its goal of being a global leader in drug discovery.

Candidate Profile:
1. Demonstrated functional expertise in any of the core areas of drug discovery- Medicinal chemistry, Cell & Assay biology, Pharmacology.
2. Proven experience of being a core part / leader of multiple discovery programs
3. Experience of having leaded a cross functional team of at least 10 members, and working collaboratively with companies in India and China (would be a definite plus.)
4. Overall experience post PhD of between 10-15 years in a Pharma/ Bio tech environment.
5. The position is open only to candidates who are willing to relocate to India. Openings are available in Hyderabad and Bangalore.
