The University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the Panjab University is a premier institution of Pharmaceutical Education and Research in the country. Post : Junior Research Fellow
Applications are invited along with bio-data and attested copies of the certificates of qualification, experience, etc. for a position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CNSNT), Panjab University, Chandigarh under a CEFIPRA (Indo-French) research project No. 6108-1 – ‘Plasmonic hot electron pockets as exciton luminescence promoters and regioselective chemical triggers’. The selected fellow will work with an international team involving Panjab University, India and CEMES, France and will also get ample opportunities to participate in various other experiments of the group as well to demonstrate independent research capabilities.
The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project at any point of time. The position is initially for one year and extendable up to third year and will be governed by the CEFIPRA as well as government of India guidelines.
Essential qualification for JRF:
Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science or Professional Courses with National Eligibility Test-CSIR UGC-NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE. Candidates who have cleared any of the national level examinations conducted by central government departments and their agencies and institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, etc. may also apply. It is expected that the successful candidate has fundamental knowledge in optics & nanoplasmonics and will demonstrate capabilities to carry out independent research work (candidates with relevant academic background only will be considered). Candidate actively engaged in research work with evidence of published work will be preferred. The incumbent may be expected to work on Saturdays/Sundays and holidays for any project exigency.
*Emoluments/Fellowships as under:
First two years: Rs 31,000 per month + HRA
Third Year (SRF): Rs 35,000 per month + HRA
* As per central government notifications and subjected to approval from funding agency. Annual assessment will be made every year apart from periodic assessment of performance. Essential criteria to be fulfilled by the candidate for promotion to SRF on completion of 2nd year and assessment will be made through external experts as approved by the concerned authority.
