National Institute for Research in Reproductive Health (NIRRH), formerly known as Institute for Research in Reproduction is a premier research institute of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). It is situated in the vicinity of a number of hospitals and research institutes in central Mumbai. Since its inception in 1970, it has been making vigorous efforts to improve the reproductive health of people through research, education and health care services.

Online applications are invited exclusively from Persons with Disability (PwDs) for filling up one vacancy for the post of Scientist B: Non- Medical (Reproductive Biology), reserved for VH (Visually Impaired) / OH (Orthopedically Impaired) in Pay Level- 10 (VIIth CPC)- equivalent to pre-revised scale PB-3 (Rs. 15,600-39,100) + Grade Pay Rs. 5400 at NIRRH (ICMR), Mumbai on or before 6th November, 2017 under the ICMR Health Research Scientist Cadre Rule, 2007, as amended from time to time.

Essential Qualification: First class Master’s degree in Life Sciences from a recognized University. or Second class M.Sc + Ph.D. degree in Life Sciences from a recognized University


Desirable Qualification:
(i) Ph.D. degree in Life Sciences or related discipline from a recognized University for candidates with First class relevant degree.
(ii) Additional Post-doctoral research/ training experience in Reproductive Biology/ Reproductive Endocrinology/ Reproductive Physiology/ Embryology in recognized Institute(s)
(iii) Knowledge of Computer Applications.
(iv) Two years R&D/ teaching experience in Reproductive Biology/ Reproductive Endocrinology/ Reproductive Physiology/ Embryology after obtaining essential qualifications.

Job Requirement:
(i) To assist the Director in planning and executing research in the area of Reproductive Biology.
(ii) To perform any other work assigned by the Director.


Age Limit: Not exceeding 45 years (including PWD relaxation). Relaxable upto 5 years for Government servants and SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC candidates, in accordance with the instructions issued by the Department of Personnel and Training from time to time in this regard.

One time age relaxation is also allowed to Scientific and Technical Staff working in long term projects in ICMR Institutes/Centres provided they meet essential qualifications and experience for the post with a view to provide them opportunity to compete with other candidates as per provision made under HRSC rule 2007 (as amended from time to time) vide Council’s letter No.6/1/2007-Admn.II dated 28.3.2011.

General Relaxation clause:
Age, qualification and experience will be relaxable in deserving cases as mentioned in the Recruitment Rules of Health Research Scientist Cadre of ICMR, 2007 under Rule 14 and Notes 1 & 2 of Schedule III (as amended from time to time)

Other Service Conditions:
1) Allowances as per Central Government Rules are admissible on the above pay scale.
2) Benefits of new restructured defined contributory pension system are admissible as per the provision contained in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs (ECD & PR Division). Notification No. 5/7/2003- ECD & PR dated 22.12.2003 effective from 1.1.2004.
3) Private practice is not allowed. However, non-practicing allowance is admissible to medical graduates only as per rules.
4) Applications from employees working in Central/ State Govt. Departments/ Public Sector Undertakings and Govt. funded research agencies must be forwarded through proper channel. Advance copies of application will be considered subject to the conditions that a “No Objection Certificate” from the employer is produced at the time of personal discussion. Application received after the closing date will not be considered. Candidates called for personal discussion/ interview have the option to answer in Hindi also.

How to apply:
1) Online applications to be submitted by visiting ICMR website icmr.nic.in or NIRRH website nirrh.res.in on or before 6th November, 2017; 5.30 pm.
2) Application forms (hard copy of online application) duly completed in all respects and signed by the applicant should be sent to the Director, National Institute for Research in Reproductive Health, J. M. Street, Parel, Mumbai- 400012, so as to reach on or before 16th November, 2017.
3) Attested copies of the following documents should be enclosed with the application:- a) Proof of Date of Birth b) Educational qualification c) Experience d) Caste and Disability Certificate (As applicable)
4) List of Publications with impact factor & citation, role in clinical & Therapeutic / public health impact of contribution of candidate, list of extramural projects whether R&D sponsored/contractual and whether as PI/Co-Investigator to be provided.
5) Unsigned/Incomplete application or application without supportive evidence asked for and application received late are liable to be summarily rejected.

IMPORTANT
i) Applicants should indicate legibly the Advertisement Number and the post applied for (with post code is mandatory) on the first page of the prescribed application form. Any canvassing by or on behalf of candidates or to bring political or other outside influence with regard to selection/ recruitment shall be considered as disqualification.
ii) Receipt of online application process shall stand closed at 5.30 p.m. on 6th November, 2017.
iii) No correspondence shall be entertained on the issue related to selection process.
