The Indian National Congress at its XVII Session of December 1901 passed a resolution stating that “in view of the fact that the tendency of recent legislation namely, The Indian Mines Act VII of 1901, is that all Indian mines must be kept under the supervision of mining experts, the Congress is of opinion that a Government College of Mining Engineering be established in some suitable place in India on the models of the Royal School of Mines in England, Mining Colleges of Japan and at other places in the continent”.

Applications on plain paper/email with supporting documents along with complete bio-data (including contact no. /e-mail ID) are invited for the position of JRF/Project Assistant (one) in a DST (SERB) sponsored project. The details of the project are as under:

“Bio-inspired Vanadium and Copper Catalyst Grafted on Graphene Oxide for Oxidation of Hydrocarbons and Alcohols” (Project No. – DST (118)/2015-2016/422/AC)

Educational Qualifications and Experience:
Candidates should be M. Sc. in Chemistry with first class (in case first class is not mentioned, candidates should have 60% marks or 7.00 OGPA/CGPA) from UGC recognized University/Institute. (NET (JRF/LS) qualified and experience in synthetic inorganic chemistry will be desirable).

Age: The upper age limit is 28 years as on the day on which application is made. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PH as per GOI rules.

Nature and duration of post
The position is initially for one year and may be extended further depending on available funds and/ progress.

Fellowship : As per DST/Institute rule and based on research experience and performance of the candidate.

Last date of receiving applications in the department :
22th September, 2016. Hard copy of the applicationsmay be sent to the Principal Investigator. But soft copies of the supporting documents along with the complete bio-data must be send to the PI through email. (Dr. Chanchal Haldar).

Selected candidates will be call for the Interview. No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates, if called for interview.
