PGIMER Advertisement for PG in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Microbiology

The PGIMER owes its inception to the vision of late Sardar Partap Singh Kairon, the then Chief Minister of Punjab and the distinguished medical educationists of the then combined state of Punjab, supported by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru who considered the institutions of scientific knowledge as temples of learning and the places of pilgrimage.

Applications are invited for filling up the following posts on a purely contractual basis for the research project titled “Genomics of K. pneumoniae and E. coli from young infants in India,” funded by ICMR-New Delhi, under the supervision of Dr. Neelam Taneja, Professor and Head, Department of Medical Microbiology, PGIMER, Chandigarh.

Project Research Scientist -II (One Post)
Qualification : Essential: First Class Post Graduate Degree in Life sciences (Biotechnology, Microbiology), including the integrated PG degrees, with three years’ experience in Microbiology, and Molecular Biotechnology
Consolidated Remuneration : As per ICMR rules
Age Limit in years : 40

Project Research Scientist -II (One Post)
Qualification : Essential : First Class Post Graduate Degree in Life sciences (Biotechnology, Microbiology, Bioinformatics), including the integrated PG degrees, with three years’ experience in Microbiology, WGS short and long read sequencing, Bioinformatic analysis
Consolidated Remuneration : As per ICMR rules
Age Limit in years : 40

Project Technical Support-I (One Post)
Qualification : Essential : B.Sc/M.Sc. in Life sciences (Biotechnology, Microbiology, Medical Laboratory Technology) with Desirable: Experience in sample collection, sample processing, AST and basic computer knowledge.
Consolidated Remuneration : As per ICMR rules
Age Limit in years : 28
