The Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) is a multidisciplinary research institute located in Jakkur, Bengaluru, established in 1989 by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The Centre focuses on advanced research and training in frontier areas of science and engineering, including materials science, chemistry, physics, biology, genetics, engineering and neuroscience.
JNCASR is an autonomous institution under the Department of Science and Technology and a Deemed-to-be University, offering research-oriented programmes including Ph.D., Integrated Ph.D., M.Sc. and M.S. programmes.
Applications are invited for temporary position of Research Associate to work under the guidance of Prof. Bivas Saha, CPMU & ICMS Unit, JNCASR, Jakkur, Bengaluru, 560064.
Post : Research Associate
Remuneration : Rs.47,000/-, Rs.49,000/- and Rs.54,000/- plus 24% HRA).
Remuneration will be fixed based on experience.
Essential Qualification : Ph.D./MD/MS/MDS or equivalent degree OR three years of research, teaching, design and development after MVSc/M.Pharm/M.E/M.Tech with at least one research paper in Science Citation Index (SCI) Journal.
Desirable Qualification : The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in first-principles density-functional theory (DFT) calculations, including electronic-structure analysis, phonon and magnetization calculations, and experience with advanced workflows such as EPW and related computational techniques.
