NIVEDI - National Institute Of Veterinary Epidemiology And Disease Informatics, formerly known as Project Directorate of Animal Disease Monitoring and Surevillance (PD_ADMAS),has a long successful history of delivering predicted informatics and solutions for various animal diseases. The institue has been setup under the regulations of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).  Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), a Central Government organization under the Department of Research and Education, Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India, set up an All India Research Project on Animal Disease Monitoring and Surveillance, (AICRP on ADMAS).

Senior Project Associate (One position) 
Title of the Project/scheme : “NCBS/BMGF: Environmental Surveillance and Early Warning System for Animal Pathogen Surveillance” [PI: Dr. Manjunatha Reddy G.B, Senior Scientist]
Essential Qualification : Master's Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences / or bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent with Four years' experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organisations and Scientific activities and services (OR) Doctoral Degree in Science / Engineering / Technology / Pharma /MD /MS/ MVSc from a recognized University or equivalent 
Desirable Qualification / Experience : Experience cell culture, virus isolation, environmental sample collection, processing of samples for virus detection, gene/genome sequencing and analysis using bioinformatic tools etc.,

Emoluments : Rs.31,000+HRA for candidate (i) NET or GATE or (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions. Rs. 25,000+HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above.

Essential Qualification : PhD in Entomology /Zoology / Life Sciences Or MVSc / PhD in Veterinary Microbiology / Pathology with least 2-3 years of research experience with at least one research paper in Science citation indexed (SCI) journal 
Candidates with experience in morphological and molecular taxonomy of Culicoides, Stomoxys, Mosquito, ticks etc will be preferred. Experience in molecular techniques and serological and virological techniques including cell culture working experience. Rs. Emoluments : 61,000/- per month + HRA (for Master Degree holders) and Rs.67,000/- Per month + HRA (for Ph.D.)

Senior Research Fellow (Two Positions)

Essential Qualification : Master degree in Veterinary Pathology / Microbiology / Virology / Biotechnology / Life Science with 4 years / 5 years of Bachelor’s Degree. OR Master’s degree in Microbiology / Biotechnology / Bioinformatics / Life Science with 3 years Bachelor’s degree and 2 years Master’s degree should have NET qualifications 
Virological, Immunological and Molecular techniques such as handling of biosafety/risk pathogens, immune-assays, genomics etc. Vector collection and identification including processing for detection of pathogens. Data management, mapping, disease modelling, risk analysis etc., 
Emoluments : Rs. 37,000/- per month + HRA for 1st and 2nd year & Rs. 42,000/- per month + HRA for 3rd year

Project Manager (One position) 
Title of the Project/scheme :“National Livestock Disease Epidemiology and Disease Modelling Program” (BMGF) [Project Coordinator: Dr. B.R.Gulati, Project Coordinator]
Essential Qualification : M.Tech/MVSc/Masters in Epidemiology/Data Science/ Biostatistics /Mathematics with minimum of 4-year experience in epidemiology/disease modeling after completion of masters. OR PhD in Epidemiology/Data Science/Biostatistics/Mathematics with minimum of 1 year experience in epidemiology/disease modeling after completion of PhD Desirable Experience : Demonstrated experience in managing multi- disciplinary teams and complex research project.
Candidates with experience in disease modeling and epidemiology will be preferred. 
Responsibilities in the Project fellowship programs, and successful delivery of all project objective across multiple work packages. The project manager will lead and coordinate the national frame work for livestock disease epidemiology project, ensuring seamless collaboration with international partners, effective management of fellowship programs, and successful delivery of all project objective across multiple work packages.

Desirable Qualification / Experience : Experience : 
• Knowledge in serological and molecular tests routinely used for small ruminant infectious diseases, including specimen processing, ELISA, DNA/RNA extraction, PCR etc. 
• Conducting field investigations and sample collection. 
• Proficient in basic computer skills (data entry in MS Word, Excel)

Project Research Scientist-III (Non-Medical) 
Title of the Project / scheme :  “Advanced Diagnostic and Omics Strategies for Surveillance and Characterization of Leptospira Carriers in Livestock and Their Environments” – under DHR-ICMR-National One Health Mission (NOHM) funded Project [PI: Dr. V.Balamurugan, Principal Scientist]
Essential Qualification : Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG degrees, with five years’ post qualification experience or PhD + two years post qualification experience in Life sciences (Microbiology/Biotechnology/other related fields) or its equivalent. as per No.16/29/2023/Admn/E.Office No.157401 dated 18/10/2024
Desirable Qualification / Experience : • Experience in handling Leptospira culture and other zoonotic pathogen 
• Proficiency in metagenomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics for Zoonotic pathogen characterization 
• Experience in One Health approaches, zoonotic disease surveillance, outbreak investigations, and epidemiology in livestock and environmental samples. 
• Expertise in developing and validating diagnostic assays (PCR, qPCR, ELISA, serology) for infectious disease surveillance 
• Managing multidisciplinary research teams and coordinating large-scale studies. 
• Experience working with veterinary epidemiologists, field veterinarians, and public health agencies. 
• Familiarity with spatial epidemiology and GIS-based surveillance. Quite a number of publications with a good impact factor in NAAS and Thomson Reuters-indexed journals. 
Nature of Work/Job Responsibilities : Oversee multi-omics approaches (metagenomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics) for Leptospira surveillance in livestock and the environment. Supervise multi-omics data integration to identify Leptospira diversity, biomarkers, and risk factors. Ensure quality control and standardization of sample collection, processing, and analysis. Lead bioinformatics workflows for genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic, and metabolomic analysis. Coordinate animal model experiments (hamsters and mice) with adherence to ethical standards. Collaborate with veterinarians, epidemiologists, and public health authorities for real-world applications. Guide Project Research Scientists - I in experiments, data validation, and troubleshooting. Prepare scientific reports, manuscripts, and conference presentations. Assist the Principal/Co- Investigator in project tracking, compliance, and administrative reporting.
Emoluments : Rs. 78,000/- per month + HRA 
Age : 45 Years

Note :  Initially the tenure will be upto the tenure of the project or 31.03.2026, whichever is earlier. This will be extendable based on satisfactory performance and fund availability and continuity of the project.

Terms and conditions
1. Any Changes with regard to selection/schedule of interview will be notified at the Institute’s website only. 
2. For ICMR Project the age relaxation upto 5 years may be granted to deserving candidates having experience of working in Government Research Organization on a case-to-case basis. However, the contract for engagement of project staff shall be upto one year, which shall be extendable up to three-years, subject to requirement and performance review. 
3. The desirous and eligible candidates fulfilling criteria must bring duly filled application form, original certificates along with one set self-attested copies of certificates / documents for verification at the time of interview. 
4. All the eligible candidates attending interview should be present at the Institute campus sharply by 9 AM on the date of interview. 
5. Candidates without original certificates/documents will not be allowed to attend the interview. 
6. Applications not in prescribed proforma, incomplete are liable to be rejected. 
7. The candidate should hold Degree certificate on the date of interview (at least Provisional Certificate), if applicable in original in respect of Graduation, Post-Graduation, Ph.D. (website results/awaiting for results candidates will not be allowed/considered). 8. The above positions are purely on temporary basis. 
9. There is no provision for absorption/re-employment after termination of the contract. The service of person, who are engaged, will automatically stand terminated with the termination of the contract. However, selected candidate may be discontinued owing to administrative reasons at any time. The selected candidate may also leave the assignment on their own, by giving one-month notice. 
10. Crucial date for determining the age limit will be the date of interview. 

11. The Income Tax or any other tax liable to be deducted as per the prevailing rules will be deducted at source before effecting payment of monthly salary. 
12. No TA, DA will be paid for attending the interview. 
13. Canvassing in any form will lead to cancellation of candidature. 
14. The notified vacancies may increase or decrease as per the requirement of the Institute /Project. 
15. The Director, ICAR-NIVEDI reserves the right to fill up all the posts or any of them without assigning any reason thereof. 
16. The decision of the Director, ICAR-NIVEDI is final and binding in all aspects.
