Walk in Interview for Project Associate, SRF at CSIR-CIMAP Research Centre

CSIR-Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (CSIR-CIMAP) is a premier multidisciplinary research institute of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), India with its major focus on exploiting the potential of medicinal and aromatic plants (MAPs) by cultivation, bioprospection, chemical characterization, extraction, and formulation of bioactive phytomolecules.

Eligible and interested candidates may attend the Walk-in-interview for engagement on purely temporary basis as Project Associate-I/II, Sr. Project Associate, SRF under sponsored projects tenable at CSIR-CIMAP Research Centre, Bengaluru. The details are given below

Project Associate-I (2 Nos.)
Max. Age : 35 years 
Essential Qualification : M.Sc in Chemistry from a recognised University or equivalent 
Desirable Qualification : Experience in the field of chemical ecology and analytical chemistry of plant secondary metabolites 
Monthly emoluments (Rs.) : i) Rs. 31,000/- + HRA to Scholars who are selected through a) National Eligibility Tests-CSIR- UGC/ NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE ii) Rs.25,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above

Project Associate-I/II (2 Nos.) 
Max. Age : 35 years 
Essential Qualification : For Project Associate-I : M.Sc. in Microbiology/Biotechnology/ Biochemistry / M.Tech in Biotechnology from a recognised University or equivalent 
For Project Associate-II : M.Sc. in Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry from a recognised University or equivalent and 2 years relevant experience in Research and Development in Industrial/ Academic/ Research Institutions 
Desirable Qualification : Working experience in Biotechnology/Molecular Biology/yeast biology 
Monthly emoluments (Rs.) : For Project Associate-I : i) Rs. 31,000/- + HRA to Scholars who are selected through a) National Eligibility Tests-CSIR- UGC/ NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE ii) Rs.25,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above 
For Project Associate-II : i) Rs. 35,000/- + HRA to Scholars who are selected through a) National Eligibility Tests- CSIR- UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE ii) Rs. 28,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above


Project Associate-I/II (1 No.) 
Max. Age : 35 years For Project Associate-I : M.Sc in Botany from a recognised University or equivalent 
Essential Qualification : For Project Associate-II : M.Sc in Botany from a recognised University or equivalent and 2 years relevant experience in Research and Development in Industrial/Academic/ Research Institutions 
Desirable Qualification : Research experience in Field surveys, DNA fingerprinting, marker development, DNA Barcoding and genetic diversity studies. 
Monthly emoluments (Rs.) : For Project Associate-I : i) Rs. 31,000/- + HRA to Scholars who are selected through a) National Eligibility Tests-CSIR- UGC/ NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE ii) Rs.25,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above 
For Project Associate-II : i) Rs. 35,000/- + HRA to Scholars who are selected through a) National Eligibility Tests- CSIR- UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE ii) Rs. 28,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above

Project Associate-I/II (1 No.)

Essential Qualification : For Project Associate-I : M.Sc in Botany from a recognised University or equivalent 
For Project Associate-II : M.Sc in Botany from a recognised University or equivalent and 2 years relevant experience in Research and Development in Industrial/Academic/ Research Institutions 
Desirable Qualification : Research experience in Field surveys, propagation techniques, DNA fingerprinting, marker development, DNA Barcoding and genetic diversity studies. 
Monthly emoluments (Rs.) : For Project Associate-I : i) Rs. 31,000/- + HRA to Scholars who are selected through a) National Eligibility Tests-CSIR- UGC/ NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE ii) Rs.25,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above 
For Project Associate-II : i) Rs. 35,000/- + HRA to Scholars who are selected through a) National Eligibility Tests- CSIR- UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE ii) Rs. 28,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above


SRF-ICAR (1 No.) 
Max. Age : 35 years 
Essential Qualification : M.Sc in Botany from a recognized University with NET qualification and 2 years of research experience. Desirable Qualification : Research experience in Fieldwork, collection, DNA fingerprinting, marker development, DNA Barcoding, and genetic/chemical diversity studies. 
Monthly emoluments (Rs.) : Rs. 31,000/- + HRA for the 1st & 2nd year and Rs. 35,000/- + HRA for the 3rd year.

Project Associate-I (1 No.) 
Max. Age : 35 years 
Essential Qualification : M.Sc in Botany from a recognised University or equivalent 
Desirable Qualification : Research experience in Field work, collection, Classical and Molecular systematics, phylogeny, DNA fingerprinting, marker development, DNA Barcoding, and genetic diversity studies. 
Monthly emoluments (Rs.) : i) Rs. 31,000/- + HRA to Scholars who are selected through 
a) National Eligibility Tests-CSIR- UGC/ NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE ii) Rs.25,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above

Project Associate-I/II (1 No.)

Essential Qualification : For Project Associate-I : M.Sc. in Microbiology/Biotechnology/\Biochemistry / M.Tech in Biotechnology from a recognised University or equivalent 
For Project Associate-II : M.Sc. in Microbiology/Biotechnology /Biochemistry from a recognised University or equivalent and 2 years relevant experience in Research and Development in Industrial/ Academic/ Research Institutions 
Desirable Qualification : Working experience in Molecular Microbiology 
Monthly emoluments (Rs.) : For Project Associate-I :
 i) Rs. 31,000/- + HRA to Scholars who are selected through a) National Eligibility Tests-CSIR- UGC/ NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE ii) Rs.25,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above 
For Project Associate-II: i) Rs. 35,000/- + HRA to Scholars who are selected through a) National Eligibility Tests- CSIR- UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE ii) Rs. 28,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above

ii) Rs.25,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above

Project Associate-I (1 No.) 
Max. Age : 35 years 
Essential Qualification : M.Sc. in Biotechnology/ Biochemistry / M.Tech in Biotechnology from a recognised University or equivalent 
Desirable Qualification : Working experience in Plant Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology 
Monthly emoluments (Rs.) : i) Rs. 31,000/- + HRA to Scholars who are selected through 
a) National Eligibility Tests-CSIR- UGC/ NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE ii) Rs.25,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above

Sr. Project Associate (1 No.) 
Max. Age : 40 years 
Essential Qualification : Master Degree in Plant Biotechnology/ Biochemistry with Four Years Research Experience. OR Doctoral Degree in Biotechnology/ Biochemistry . 
Desirable Qualification : Experience of working in molecular biology techniques and plant genome editing 
Monthly emoluments (Rs.) : Rs.42,000/- + HRA

Terms & Conditions
1. Engagement will be initially for a period of one year, and may be extended or curtailed depending upon the project requirement, and desired level performance or conduct of the incumbent and availability of funds from funding agencies as the case may be. 
2. The tenure of project staff shall be co-terminus with the project. However, under no circumstances the tenure would be allowed to exceed five-year duration. The performance of the project staff would be reviewed periodically so that any one not found up to the mark, could be terminated. 
3. The position is only temporary and, therefore, will not confer any right on the incumbent to any claim, implicit or explicit on any post in CSIR-CIMAP. 
4. The upper age limit as on date of Walk-in-Interview, is relaxable as per the Government of India Rules 
5. On completion of the tenure in one project, in case, one wants to apply for engagement in another project, he/she will have to go through the process of selection by submitting a fresh application under the new project. Engagement of the Project Staff under the new project would be made only after submission of resignation and “No Dues Certificate” in the previous project. 
6. The project staff shall be permitted to avail leave as per rules. 
7. Experience, where required, will be counted from acquiring minimum educational qualification 
8. Final semester and result awaited candidates will not be allowed to appear for interview.

Date, place and time of interview : 13 June 2024 at CSIR-CIMAP Research Centre, Bengaluru (Reporting time : 9 AM along with signed Bio-Data downloaded from website with all Original Documents, 01 (One) set of Self Attested Photocopies of all the educational testimonials and 01 (One) Recent Passport size photograph, failing which the candidate will not be allowed to appear in the Walk-in-Interview.
