Job Description
• Monitor and maintain Novartis standards and support the development of internal and external policies, guidelines and procedures according to applicable laws and regulations for areas in scope of the Chief Medical Office (CMO), e.g. medical/patient programs, clinical studies, digital assets for Novartis products or grants;
• Actively monitor governance mailboxes and triage internal governance request to correct governance teams/boards and external requests (i.e.to support independent research, to provide access to medicines etc.) to the correct program teams and country organizations;
• Monitor internal controls to measure compliance; review internal audit outcomes, support business process reviews and country self-assessments based on defined control matrices;
• Support the correct implementation of standards at country organizations and global functions and across all Novartis Divisions; support central oversight at the Novartis CMO and Global Drug Development level;
• Support the development of training for associates and management to ensure adherence to standards;
• If aware, escalate quality and compliance risks related to assigned areas and suggest mechanisms to mitigate these risks;
• Participate in cross-functional projects to continuously improve Novartis standards, policies, guidelines, processes and systems;
• Ensure effective communication with teams at Novartis Divisions; present to Governance Boards and Governance Management as requested
• Support global inspection and audit preparation and support Quality Auditing and Compliance as well as Internal Audit
• Collaborate with country organizations to set-up and execute appropriate corrective and preventive actions plans in case of major audit or inspection findings;
• Participate in cross-functional Governance Boards, as needed

Candidate Profile
Master’s Degree in Sciences or Business Administration Excellent English language skills • Minimum 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry within medical affairs, clinical development, compliance or quality;
• First experience in working in matrix teams in global organizations and global project teams
• High learning agility, comfortable with complexity, change and diversity
• Effective and very good communication skills across different audiences
• Very good interpersonal skills demonstrating the Novartis Values for collaboration, quality and integrity;
• Ability to interact with internal and external customers
• Openness to change and ability to promote a cultural of high ethical standards and compliance
