UNC Health Care comprise local operations and system support, which collectively aim to improve patient care across North Carolina through collaboration, innovation, and education. Local operations are organized into regions across the state and include the pharmacy departments of system hospitals. Currently, system support includes Integrated Supply Services, Retail and Outpatient Pharmacy Services, Business Operations Services, and Pharmacy Benefit Management and Population Health Services. These departments and services provide programs in the areas of clinical, operational, and financial pharmacy practice that maintain high-quality, cost-effective care for our patients.

Post : Pharmacist - Drug Utilization Management

Job Description
• Establish and coordinate a system-level medication stewardship program that provides a consistent, coordinated approach to reviewing medication utilization for appropriateness of use, safety, and financial impact
• Trend and report utilization data of high-cost and safety implicated medications, both internal and compared with top-performing hospital peers (i.e., internal and external benchmarking)
• Identify and prioritize opportunities for improvement in utilization, safety mitigation, and optimization of prescribing behaviors
• Design, implement, and support strategies to improve utilization, incorporating safety, efficacy, and financial information
• Work collaboratively with various stakeholder groups across the health care system and with external partners to ensure the success of the program (e.g., System Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, Pharmacy Analytics, Integrated Pharmacy Supply Chain, GPO, etc.)
• Perform other functions as defined

Candidate Profile
Requires Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy and two years pharmacist experience or a Pharm.D. degree. Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist and eligible to practice pharmacy in the state of North Carolina.
