Job Description
Responsible for all aspects of dispensing, labeling, storage and proper use of pharmaceutical preparations. Responsible for the education of patients, nurses and physicians in proper drug use and for providing pharmaceutical care to patients through monitoring drug therapy and insuring medication appropriateness and safety. Pharmacists are also responsible for appropriate supervision, tracking and inspection of all work performed by interns, technicians and clerks. Maintains ability to provide direct pharmaceutical care to patients of all ages, including newborns, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.
Candidate Profile
Graduate of an accredited 5 or 6 year College of Pharmacy. Advanced degree or ASHP residency desirable. Applicant must possess a current Connecticut Pharmacist license or be registry eligible. Minimum of one-year hospital experience with unit dose and IV additive programs desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology, math skills, manual dexterity and computer experience. Ability to deal with moderate stress and high volume desirable.
