Job Description:
• To generate scientific/technical data using established systems and procedures and protocols
• Report on work to project team or sub-project leader
• Apply depth and/or breadth of knowledge and experience to recognise problems and find solutions; propose and agree with manager if deviating from standard practice and procedures
• Effectively prioritise and plan for self and staff (as appropriate) to progress work, within a direction defined by manager
• Provide support and/or advice to others on technical issues
• Organise the daily/weekly activities of team and or contractors to meet workload demands adjusting resources where appropriate
• Interpret HSE requirements and suggest/implement improvements within a defined area
• Build relationships with stakeholders/customers in pursuit of overall goals and objectives set by others
Skills Required (Knowledge and Skills)
- Proven ability to resolve scientific/ technical problems
- Documented evidence of prior instances when and how the problem solving skills have been demonstrated
- In-depth understanding of outdoor cultivation of algae
- Proven ability to make keen scientific observations, document data and compile data-sheets, interpret data, and finally publish documents that high-light the knowledge gained through daily chores.
- Ability to influence, guide and manage young graduates and contract man-power to enable smooth operations and effective implementation of high quality science at site.
- Ability to interact with multi-disciplinary teams in order to facilitate and coordinate field testing and outdoor demonstration of lab-based technologies/ approaches coming out of RCP
- Ability to interpret all processes and actions from the overall sustainability perspective.
Key Attributes (Experience and Qualifications)
- PhD in Algology or Agriculture or Microbiology
- Desirable is 4-5 years of experience in outdoor algae cultivation after PhD
- A “Go-getter” who pursues challenging work and takes lead towards solving technical/ scientific challenges
- Proven performer in the current/ previous roles
Clarity of thoughts and actions. The candidate should be able to clearly high-light his/ her valuable contribution in the current role.
